Jeff Landry would be an absolute disaster as governor

I don't necessarily disagree. I'm hoping beyond hope that Jeff Landry is not the pick here.

However, JBE's not an option here.

Maybe we should've elected the qualified republican last time over JBE if we're so worried about Jeff Landry?

Say what you want man. I’ve been on this board a long time and my opinions would be easy to find.

Checking in. Still cool with my decision. One Democrat governor isn't going to destroy the state. Hopefully the GOP has had time to reflect on the candidates it will run next time and I will be happy to vote for them.

Trust me, I see your point and we probably agree on most things. I simply did not vote because I would never vote for a D like JBE TODAY.... But let me leave you with this...

My first governor's race was in 1991. I had a choice between Edwin Edwards and David Duke. Duke, like Vitter, would vote much more in line with my views. All these years later, I'm proud to say that I did not vote for an a-hole like David Duke. Even then, I knew a criminal in Edwin Edwards would walk into the governors mansion. No regrets...

Sorry but this is kind of like CFP committee judging blowout losses more than big wins.

Don't like it?

We said the same shite about Edwin Edwards too and we elected him 4 times.

Hell even Huey Long only served one term and we're still reeling from his time in office.

Deduct box anyone?

Vitter was already extorting other elected officials for public support and making serious threats about how he would destroy their departments or cash flow to their area.

Then stop with the "I'm a conservative" BS

Because that's exactly what Jindal promised to do. But instead of slashing depts. or budgets, he used non-reoccurring revenues to balance the budget

I'm sorry that you or your family member wouldn't have been able to continue the cash cow under Vitter, but La just got voted worst run state in the nation. Since JBE took over.

You're no conservative

There's a hell of a lot of difference between Vitter and EWE dude.

Duke is a blatant racist that would be very comfortable with a Nazi Louisiana and actually proposed public policy that would harm minorities with real effect to it. He had no business being in the race much less actually being elected Governor.

Vitter? He's a solid conservative with a few moral failings with hypocritical stances that just liked access to the finest pussy on the planet in DC and din't want to hurt entire blocs of the voting public.

Sorry, I'm just not buying the argument that JBE is the most corrosive problem we have around here. He will be gone after this term and it will be GOP governors as usual before before you know it. I bet they won't even be sexually deviant, Bible thumping hypocrites that serve to embarrass the hell out of our state and party.

Our state can't seem to get right for elected governor's.

It's such a shame we finally get a pro economy president and yet we have this dummy in charge of the state... Wasted opportunity folks...

But to be fair JBE still seems exponentially better than Bobby Jindal. Jindal was a disgrace to Republicans, he was nothing more than a selfish bull in a China closet disguised as an (R).

No, I pay a shite load in taxes and hire people. We are more like Miss than Texas because our citizens choose to be more like Miss than Texas.

Edwards is not an honorable man as he would have you to believe because of his military background. He had me on his side early on but later exposed himself for what he was, a complete contradiction to what he claimed. And he gave out more vouchers than what Jindle had given for kids to attend private schools. Why not fix the schools instead of using more money to send kids to private schools? My kids don't go to private school but I have friends who have kids that do go and they pay dearly. Not fair, if you ask me.

Actually no, it's the state legislature being the most corrosive problem in this state and that's why need a Governor that's worth a shite to wrangle them in on delivering what they actually promised their voters and not being corrupt frickwads.

JBE's not that guy and never will be.

quote:

He will be gone after this term

He can still lose 3% of his vote total from the runoff and still win and he's sitting at like 42-44% in a generic matchup and only needs like 6-8% to win again?

Sorry I don't like taking dangerous chances like that just to take a moral stand that doesn't mean anything in the long run.

Sentrius it’s actually part of being a supporter of limited government to reject at all cost someone who was actively coercing other officials in separate bodies.

If you support outright corruption then by all means, support Vitter and blame me.

I don’t care. I’m a big boy.

No.

JBE voted for Jindal's budgets that he railed against in the campaign and Jindal got budget surpluses without raising taxes like JBE has done.

And Jindal wasn't doing anything to frick over the largest provider of employment in this state in oil and gas like JBE is constantly trying to do.

And I fricking hate Jindal and I hope he goes broke as soon as he can.

You're really going to defend the very people that make this state one of the most corrupt in the country and act like they don't need a bum rush of a challenge from a Governor that's actually a conservative?

And didn't you vote for Trump who promised to do the same to the GOP Congress?
