Absolutely.

Sure, (Antifa) tactics resemble those of the Brownshirts, but their ideology (though equally wrong) bears little similarity. They are closer to the Brownshirts’ contemporaries, the Roter Frontkämpferbund and the Antifaschistische Aktion.

As such, Antifa would be analogous to a contemporary, unofficial RFB, and a group like the Proud Boys would be analogous to the Brownshirts.
Similar tactics do not equate to similar ideology.

Anybody with a lick of sense would condemn antifa. They are nothing but cowards and thugs.

Does Antifa not use violence and intimidation tactics against people who disagree with them politically? Sounds pretty fascist to me

Is that description of Antifa incorrect?

Technically, yeah, calling ANTIFA fascist IS incorrect.

They’re actually closer to 1917 style Bolsheviks, truth be told.

It’s really a difference without distinction. Both Brownshirts and Bolsheviks were groups of violent animals hell-bent on creating a totalitarian state.

As I said above, I tend to think of them as little punks with aspirations to thugdom.

If we simply MUST equate them to an historical analog, I would choose the Communist paramilitaries of pre-War Germany ... primarily the RFB and the AA.

Exactly. A spade is a spade and it’s insulting to the heroes at dday to equate them with antifa. That’s all that needs to be said.

Yet we have a faux intellectual trying to pick apart diction as well as minimize any violence they commit.

are you trying to say Antifa aren't fascists?

And yet, ideology alone has never hurt anyone..

actions (tactics...) on the other hand do...

There are many was to say this... A Rose by any other name is still a Rose..

if walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and looks like a duck....

the label is not the real issue... it is the actions...

Yes, the "prone to sensory overload" crowd that needs a safe room without aggressive scents and can't handle whispers in a crowded room would have done just fine storming the beaches at Normandy.

and noted dullard NIH fails to grasp that a challenge to another poster's erroneous factual assertions does NOT equate to disagreement with said poster's general sentiment.

JJDoc thinks we should return to the moon to ensure an endless supply of green cheese. I can easily disagree with the assertion that Luna is composed of dairy products, while agreeing that we should return and establish a permanent presence.

Can someone let them know that DDay was in 1944?
I laughed.

It really IS indicative of their level of historical knowledge, isn't it?

The only factual assertion in the OP was that there was over 18k people who were ok with equating antifa to those who faced the horrors at dday.

Then you come in here Nooooo antifa is not FASCIST!!

I do not recall mentioning the OP in my analysis of whether Antifa is more analogous to "fascists" or to the RFB.

It is almost as if you are intellectually incapable of following two lines of discussion.

Your first post in this thread was responding to the OP to call those who call antifa fascists simpletons.

As if that had anything to do with this thread’s subject.
