This might explain why Trump decided to take the offensive against Omar and Ocasio-Cortez

A new internal Democrat poll in swing districts released on Sunday showed that socialist Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) are extremely unpopular and that they may cost the Democratic Party the presidency and the House in 2020.
"Ocasio-Cortez was recognized by 74% of voters in the poll; 22% had a favorable view," Axios reported. "Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota — another member of The Squad — was recognized by 53% of the voters; 9% (not a typo) had a favorable view."
"Socialism was viewed favorably by 18% of the voters and unfavorably by 69%," Axios added, whereas "capitalism was 56% favorable; 32% unfavorable."
The firm that conducted the poll gave the results to Axios on the condition that it not be named because it works "with all parts of the party."
A top Democrat involved in the 2020 congressional races told Axios: "If all voters hear about is AOC, it could put the [House] majority at risk. [S]he's getting all the news and defining everyone else’s races. Socialism is toxic to these voters."

Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar are two of the most recognizable DNC reps in Congress right now. The media made sure of that, and it might come back to bite them in the arse because these two clowns are about as un-American as it gets. If Trump is able to pound Omar with her own words, it could hurt the DNC in the national election. Trump could be re-elected and Republicans could win back control of the House.

Good grief. It's no mystery as to why Republicans are going to showcase these two the upcoming election.

The Dem voters are going to support whoever Trump dislikes, and will reject whoever Trump likes.
Trump "likes" Pelosi and dislikes Omar & AOC > Dems support Omar and AOC > greater spotlight on the nuts > higher Right voter turnout and greater split in Dem party

I’ve said pretty much the same thing in multiple threads. This is why he is attacking them and “protecting” Pelosi. To a moderate, he is trying to be bipartisan. To the insane left, Nancy is now compromised, and they need to depose her. It’s standard a Trump move. He is sewing the seeds for 2020. He’s already won and they don’t know it

32 seems low. NEA going to have to triple the education efforts.

No fan of AOC or “The Squad” but what Trump said was pretty stupid.

I had a conversation with a guy about high school extending into college, young adults not having real responsibility, and all the bullshite that comes with people getting shite handed to them for free forever. It contiinued on about how we benefited greatly from working as teenagers mowing lawns and whatnot, setting ourselves up for self reliance and success... and then he said "and it's this capitalist system we have that has us going in the wrong direction," as though the entire conversation about self-reliance, freedom, and free-loading never happened.
I realized that "capitalism" is a buzz word that some people have been brainwashed against, and it's about branding. There isn't an actual logical connection between capitalism/socialism and their respective benefits/costs. Of course, liberalism requires a logical disconnect, but I would imagine that disconnect, especially with the branding, is a common thing among people polled.

AOC and her terrorist girlfriend are the best thing to happen to conservatives since Trump took over the Republican Party.

You left out that this poll was just whites without a college degree.
Honestly, the fact that 22% of that demographic approves of AOC is scary as hell.

No, I got the point OP was making. AOC is a weak link and going after her and the others make sense. I was speaking as to how Trump did it though.

Ok, that's fine. But I'd be interested to hear your idea of what he should have done.

Attack them on being weak and ineffectual. Paint them as the face of the Democratic Party. Highlight their absurdly ridiculous policy proposals, etc.
