I fully expect Trump to crush Sanders, but Trump needs to still aggressively campaign and people need to still donate to Trump and show lots of public support for him. People are massively underestimating how fargone many parts of this country are. There are sentiments being echoed that exactly mirror 2016.

1. The media has spent 4 years attempting to poison everyone on Trump. A huge majority of Democrats are affected. Almost all of them will hold their nose and vote for Bernie. Democrats were counting on a huge #NeverTrump movement to give Hillary a landslide. I remember when SHE was supposed to win 40 states. I remember when she was gonna win Texas and Georgia. I don't see a mass #NeverBernie movement materializing

2. Sanders is a legitimate populist candidate. Much like the RNC tried to stop Trump but couldn't in 2016, the DNC is going to try (and fail) to stop Sanders in 2020. The RNC's efforts actually backfired. The more people saw the system trying to take down Trump, they actually rallied around him. The same phenomenon could benefit Sanders. If people perceive the power brokers working behind the curtain to stop Sanders, that could just embolden his supporters more.

Regardless, Trump still will have overwhelming advantages come November. He'll have a huge fundraising edge and the power of incumbency. We just can't afford to take anything for granted, Sanders is that dangerous and horrifyingly enough at least 40%-45% of this country will be voting for a radical socialist come November.

I think the fear of Bernie will be used to motivate the base.

I was working at a nuclear plant near York, PA, in Sept-Oct of 2008. The energy that the pro Obama people had was present. A person could not walk down a street in York without being asked if he was registered to vote. I fully expect the Sanders people to be just as energetic on college and university campuses. Think what you want about Bernie, but I guarantee you he has a lot of loyal support in a few places.

Yea, you Bernie Bros would focus on that, not the increased taxation to pay for all the “free stuff”, giving everything to non-citizens, and open borders.

I love the naivety of the low education Bernie Bros.

people need to still donate to Trump

On the subject of donations, when Trump holds a rally for various Republican candidates for Congress and governor, it stands to benefit him and that candidate jointly. I'd assume it's the case that the very donations you speak of fund those events in large part, typically billed as a "Trump event/rally". So even if you donate ostensibly for his Presidential campaign, it should be remembered that donation funds assist well beyond just the Presidential campaign. And almost equally as important.

Bernie has a chance because of healthcare. Trump probably win regardless, but that's really the only argument Bernie has with moderates and swing voters.

Where Bernie will kill Democrats is down ballot. The Dems in tightly contested state and federal House and Senate races in purple areas will have no choice but to hitch their wagon to the most left-wing presidential candidate in US history, one whose entire platform of ideas has zero chance of passing even a Democrat-controlled Congress (just ask Harry Reid).

Agreed. GOP has a real chance to take back the House now by retaking suburban districts they lost in '18. Bernie as the nominee will kill Dems in the suburbs, while their margin in urban areas will go from 70% to 80%, not a big deal (as far as House districts go).

There is very little doubt that no matter the nominee they will 100% circle the wagons

And they will once again be outspending our side by a significant margin because they are absolutely thirsty to reshape this country into a leftist shithole they are in charge of

Its going to be down to tens of thousands of votes

With the House laying there to take and the Senate on edge because so many Republican seats are up nobody is getting complacent about anything.

may not win everything but it won't be because of complacency

Get out and vote. Old people vote in big numbers. Younger people go to a Bernie rally but don't show up at the polls. It will be a blood bath.
