While I think she's being a little dramatic (shocker), down here in Houston there are some rumblings going around that we feel like we haven't been thought off by the administration in D.C..

No offense, but that chick looks like the type that would call 911 if McDonald's ran out of chicken nuggets...

Don't depend on others to take care of you.

Folks should always have a couple weeks (at a minimum) of non-perishable food and other basic supplies on hand.

I live in Houston. It’s astonishing to me that people don’t have basic food and water supply to last them a week much less a few days. How many hurricanes do you have to go through before you get your house a little more self sufficient?

I was telling a coworker about my food storage that would last my family about a month. His exact words were “is there something I should know about?”. As if I was paranoid and over preparing.

I empathize we people, but this blaming the government every time a natural disaster happens is dumb. There’s no nuance to it.

Sounds like something AOC would say, but from somewhere like Miami.

TX decided to have their own power grid to keep the Fed govt OUT! If the federal government is involved like they are with the west and east power grids, this is not even happening. Get your facts straight baw. So you are unfortunately going to have to leave President Biden out of this one. This is TX’s frick up. And a royal one.

Please enlighten us on how the government is involved with independent power providers?

Wrong son. Wind failed. It went from 42% of Texas electricity to 8%. Gas, nuclear and coal made up some of the shortfall. But a few gas lines failed and things snowballed. If Texas (and the USA) has more nuclear and coal there would be no outages. Louisiana uses gas, coal and nuclear. No wind or solar to speak of. No outages. Wind and solar are just not dependable. Especially when your life depends on it.
