That's a whole 'nother level of hot potato, but yeah, THAT part of it almost assuredly won't be as salacious as some CTs believe.
That level of belief isn't the majority I wouldn't imagine, but those people are often the loudest in their melt stage about this stuff.

I don't know about that.
The only funding I know of was just me (IIRC) paying for some stuff for the flag football game in 2008, and then an MLB pitcher and his model fiance buying 100 shots at BBG at the OTGT@BBG that night.
And there was a TD-sponsored tailgate on the parade grounds in 2007. Not sure if they actually supplied anything of note (I had the radio show so I was late and missed all the people who wanted to beat me up).
Of all of the hundreds of other IRL examples I've been a part of, I don't remember any third party funding of anything.
