No evidence has been presented that Taylor was dealing drugs. Despite the claims made for the no-knock warrant, no drugs or drug paraphernalia were found at Taylor’s residence.

She and her boyfriend were using her apartment as a trap house running drugs with guns inside.

Please describe your version of proper police action in this case.

So this board doesn’t worship an adulterer(Trump) and a prescription drug user(Rush)? Very sad.

You're replying to one guy's comment, not "the board."

To many folks catch the first day of news/rumors and don’t keep track of “the rest of the story”. Then later claim what they heard initially is fact, blame some on the media.

Was she not in bed with a convicted drug dealer?

No.

The two other targets of the drug raid that were listed in the warrant, Jamarcus Glover and Adrian Walker, were not at Taylor’s apartment.

It was Taylor’s boyfriend Kenneth Walker (no relation to Adrian Walker) who mistakenly believed that a home invasion was occurring and fired on officers breaking into the apartment.

Taylor without doubt had a very poor choice in past boyfriends. Still, no evidence of drugs or drug paraphernalia was found at Taylor’s apartment the night of the fatal raid.

Her past associations got her wrapped up in a warrant, her boyfriend and terrible policy (still some disagreement on whether warrant was executed as no. Knock) got her killed

It certainly appears that she made a very poor choice in choosing Jamarcus Glover as her paramour. No knock-raids are still bad news.

Taylor is the only case I’ve seen so far that I agree was unwarranted police action.

She was about to be indicted on major crack cocaine and methamphetamine trafficking charges. They have a lot of damning video evidence.

She was. Walker ran to hide when the police fired back. He left her to bleed out. Hit 7 times. 2x in the head.

Glover blames him for her death.

I agree with you in principle, but just avoid the issue by not dealing drugs and not sleeping with drug dealers.
You agree in principle that the practice is un-American, and your solution is to just "avoid the issue"?

I agree with you, but my understanding is that they actually did knock and announce. At that point, I feel they have every right to break the door down if they have a warrant.

Really? Wouldn't it make more sense to NOT escalate what is usually a drug warrant into a potentially deadly situation? Especially given that mistakes can and have been made?

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the only time a door should be busted down is if someone's life is already in immediate danger.

Anyway, is it not obvious to everyone that the war on drugs cannot be won by taking down dealers and traffickers? That hydra always grows new heads. It's a market like any other, so long as there is demand there will be supply. Resources would be much better spent helping users to get clean. This would shrink demand, reduce potentially violent drug deal encounters, and give us more productive members of society at the same time. Seems like a better approach, no?

Or is that not the point of this war?

Yep. And that's what dealers do, cultivate demand.

IDK what the solution is. It's probably complicated. I'm not a fan of NKR (no-knock raids). Seem especially risky. But folks trafficking in drugs know NKRs are a legal tactic for now. IOW, dealers assume the risk of a NKR happening.
