Shortage of death by injection drugs is cited as the reason.

Let's save ammo.

Shove them off the tallest building.

Bipartisan too.

quote:

COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina senators Tuesday added a firing squad to the electric chair as alternatives if the state can't execute condemned inmates by way of lethal injection.

The Senate then approved the bill on a key 32-11 vote with several Democrats joining Republicans in the proposal which would allow South Carolina to restart executions after nearly 10 years.

I’ve always felt this or hanging was the proper way to do it

Firing squad seems a bit much, 1 bullet to back of head is probably the most humane way anyways.

Firing squads traditionally only used one bullet anyway and they gave it to one of the soldiers at random so no one knew who actually fired and thus wouldn’t feel guilt. Rest are blanks

I would rather be shot than electrocuted or injected

There was a guy in Utah, I believe, who opted for this for his execution about a decade or so ago. Ballsy.

Edit: 4 of the 5 shooters had live rounds. One did not.

Guillotine is the most environmentally friendly method and causes no scarcity of resources. All you need is gravity.

A rope and a tree is all that's really needed. But ole Sparky sure does put on a show.

I am pretty sure that only one shooter is given a blank and the rest have actual live ammo.

what was wrong with gas chamber? seems easy enough to put someone out with the same shite they use at the hospital then deprive them of oxygen.

That's being saved for those fine ME refugee areas of the country.

Firing squad may be the most humane, if executed properly (no pun intended). An (accurate) headshot is instantaneous.

Whereas, a potassium chloride injection is the equivalent of a heart attack that ultimately prevents the flow of blood, which prevents the delivery of oxygen to the heart muscle cells, in which each cell dies a relatively slow, painful death, like you are being stabbed to death.

All you have to do is put someone under like whatever they do for a colonoscopy and then kill them however you want while they are out.

They could have flayed me and I would not have known until I woke up.

I admit I Googled it to make sure the state had a building that would do the trick.

Tallest one is the Capitol Center with 26 floors at slightly over 100 meters, so that would work.
