Refreshing when someone gets it.
The candidates are chosen by voters. The party is supposed to support those candidates not undermine them. That's the whole purpose of the party.
When the party leadership hates it's voters and desires to substitute their will over the will of voters, do you know what you get?
You get Donald Trump. They made Trump.
The Republican midterm strategy was to avoid anything that would make Trump emerge stronger.
A Senate minority was the preferred option. It helped the "Trump is a loser" strategy the came up with.
That was the plan since voters crushed the establishment candidates in the primaries.
