When for-profit businesses hire too many they shed or go under.
Just because the Democrats inflated federal job’s doesn’t mean we bite the bullet and keep harboring waste with tax dollars.
Yes, it means people lose their jobs, but happens in the private sector too.

It’s called layoffs. They’re not being fired for performance. They’re being fired to reduce cost and budget. It’s perfectly legal. They’ve been offered 9 months salary and benefits.

So you agree that if people were told they were being fired for performance with no track record of poor performance then it’s a fraud?

Don't you know? Elon wants MONEY!! He's taking their paychecks, cashing them all and stuffing the monies under his mattress!

(100% I bet you believe it too)
But as for TESLA, you think those cars design, manufacture and sell themselves? There's no thriving auto company with 1000's of employees, doing all of that work?
Here's your sign!

Your argument isn’t with me, it’s with the others in this thread that deny it’s happening. Not only do they need to win, but they need to be irreproachable in their win. They need to just gloat and laugh at the people losing their middle class incomes. Would be a lot more intellectually honest.

I love how we’re gonna act like this isn’t a thing.
When companies decide they need to cut costs, they lay off people. The Government is nothing more than a massive conglomerate. Costs need to be cut because people wasted trillions of dollars, now people need to be laid off.

Jesus. What an amazing non sequitur.

Trump appointed him to find the waste in government. Trump is the one laying off workers. It is not the role of the US government to employee people.

Its government. Half the jobs are probably archaic and should be eliminated
Federal employees became way too entitled.

I’m halfway with you. At least you admit what’s going on. So if we both agree there’s no real problem with culling jobs as long as you reach your desired outcome/efficiency… can we agree the way it’s being done is likely not a particularly smart process for getting to a “right-sized” government workforce while avoiding major lapses in productivity?

Fact.
Its grown way too large, and needs to be cut back.

You likening what’s going on to avoiding bankruptcy. Is your marker for “bankruptcy” the federal debt?

Well part of the debt is unpaid liabilities which is growing at an outrageous rate.

Are the layoffs a true mechanism to meaningfully reduce our national debt?
