I’ve been on this board since Mizzou joined the SEC. It hasn’t changed all that much.

Early on when Trump had a more conventional legislative agenda (e.g. Obamacare repeal and tax cuts), there was a lot of actual discussion of healthcare and tax policy with a lot of actual laissez faire and Chicago-school economics-flavored stuff. There was trolling too of course, but the substantial stuff is now pretty rare while flaming has only grown. The rise of twitter and other social media has been a major factor as viral outrage bait got recycled here as a larger and larger share of content.

I don't know about an echo chamber but there are nowhere near the number of progressives that some posters pretend there are. The sophomoric junk posts have run a lot of the left-leaning posters off or they just lurk now. That created a void which has been filled primarily by contrarians and in-fighting.

The lefts idea of an echo chamber is a forum where their ideas are challenged, they’re mocked and they’re forced to defend their stupidity.
This doesn’t happen in their safe spaces.

That’s a different claim than “opposing Trump gets you banned.” That is patently false.
I have opposed Trump and his candidacy in both the 2016 and 2024 primaries. The only time I got banned was for posting on an Ole Miss/LSU game thread.

That's not true. I've seen a BS ban or two on this board but never for not supporting a candidate or denigrating one.
