I mean, I'm not sure of the exact definition of a legit white supremacist, but after watching the vids, they aren't the most inclusive types. I'm team statue and some of the behavior was uncalled for and embarrassing. I have no problem admitting that but they don't represent my views in the slightest.
If more people were willing to say this when the situation warrants it, it would be a lot easier to say painting the right with such a broad brush is unwarranted.
A simple "I support the statues, but not extremists" goes a long way. The equivalent going the other way is "I support whatever movement du jour but not a riot"

You mean the vids exclusively shot of collected KKK attention whores dancing before the cameras?
Why engage in the behavior at all? Had they not portrayed themselves in that manner it wouldn't be so easy to characterize them as such. If the argument has merit it stands on it's own without drunk women yelling n****r at people they disagree with. All I'm saying is I don't support that rhetoric and yelling slurs at people is not my ideal form of argument. It tarnishes a worthy cause.

Tell the dumbass OP what the iconography these people chose means.
No shite. They look like the Democrat Party of the 1870s, 1920s and 1950s-60s.

Pulling down the statue of Lee is like pissing on my granddads grave.

In the name of diversity we should have a diversity of statues.
Build more. Don't tear down. Tell more stories not less.

I'll never understand the desire for some people to completely reject history and attempt to bury it. It's the most unenlightened thing I can think of. Which isn't surprising coming from the most unenlightened group of people the world has ever known.
In other words, progs.

Did they end up burning down some buildings, destroy any private businesses, or kill police officers?
If not, why the coverage like they did?

Why engage in the behavior at all?
The KKK, or the Muslim Brotherhood, or BLM, or PETA or Unicef putting together a "We Are The Word" benefit concert (or a single cause protest) attracting thousands of interested attendees does not bind those attendees with, or link them to, the organizing group's founding principles.
Nor does agreement by an idiot like Richard Spencer with parts of a platform equate the platform to Spencer's ideology. Drawing equation to the contrary is defamatory, and in this case is being used as deliberate distraction by partisans and their complicit press corps.
Ironically, this duplicity is being carried out in the same location as many of the same press SOBs conjured up UVA's supposed "rape culture" three years ago. Sad really.

Wait. Are the nationalists actually carrying torches or even something that is supposed to look like a lighted torch?
