Income redistribution is their utopia

California Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., asked his Twitter followers this week to consider the benefits of raising the minimum wage above $20 per hour.

In a since-deleted post captured by ProPublica, Khanna noted that raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour is expected to lift 1 million people out of poverty – while envisioning what an even steeper increase would do.

“Raising the minimum wage to $15 would lift 1 million people out of poverty. Imagine how many more lives would be impacted if we matched the rate of productivity and made it $23/hr,” the post read.

We could raise everyone out of poverty if we just made it $50/hr

There should be a mandatory economics class for those who want to run for public office. Holy hell.

It won’t lift people out of poverty. It will lift poverty onto more people.

So the people who actually went through a meaningful amount of education/training/etc should now be on the same playing field as the fry chef Ro? That’s almost 50k a year. What the frick is the point of working to better your situation if some 18 year old can make the same amount on what should be a summer job?

Not if the results of such economics education are the likes of AOC with her 'degree' in economics.

Besides, the basement dweller's government will no longer abide by classical economics and will, instead, create their own 'economics' around race, gender equality and climate change. See recent thread!

I say we raise it to $2,000/hour

We can pay off the National Debt in no time with the income taxes

For you nay sayers talking about destroying jobs we can simply make it illegal to terminate employees for any reason and we make it illegal not to hire every job applicant

40 hours a week minimum, with full benefits

How stupid must you be to not see minimum wage requirements for what they are. They are useless without price controls. Price controls destroy jobs.

It takes only an elementary level education to figure out.

The left hates people who work hard and make good decisions.

their goal is not redistribution. Their goal is total destruction of capitalism. Wish you people would learn what Karl Marx was about.
