He is wearing a dark suit on a white (non-leather) couch. He will have little white fuzz pieces all over his suit arse if he doesn’t sit on the black towel.
Same thing goes for nice restaurants, especially for a lady wearing a black dress.
Pro tip for you gents, when being seated ask for a dark napkin for your date if she’s in a black dress. Scores big points on the attention to detail side.
