If you're in one of these states, remove these guys from office in the primary:

quote:

The seven Republicans who voted on Tuesday with Democrats to grant illegal aliens amnesty include:

Congressman Don Bacon (R-NE)
Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart(R-FL)
Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick(R-PA)
Congressman Will Hurd (R-TX)
Congressman Dan Newhouse (R-WA)
Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ)
Congressman Fred Upton (R-MI)

Get rid of these

What’s the alternative?
We ask them politely to leave? We spend billions unsuccessfully tracking them all down?

Here’s the reality some don’t want to face: If we are ever going to fix these illegal immigration issues it going to take THREE steps

Step 1: increase border security

Step 2: make it cheaper, faster, safer, and easier to immigrate legally than illegally

Step 3: provide either amnesty or a very accelerated path to citizenship and/or Visas for illegal immigrants already in the country

So many think just doing step 1 will fix something, it won’t. Until we make immigrating LEGALLY a simpler option than immigrating ILLEGALLY it’s going to continue. You need all 3 of those steps to help the problem

Primary those seven Congressmen from their Right, and the GOP loses those seven seats. Better to have their votes 75% of the time than to have seven Dem votes every time.

Anyone who thinks that this forum’s ideal GOP candidate could win ANY of those districts is simply too stupid to be taken seriously on any point whatsoever.

Step 2: Stop all immigration (legal as well as illegal) indefinitely until a time when congress can get their proverbial head out of their proverbial arse.

Step 3: Continue to stop all immigration (legal as well as illegal) indefinitely.

why does this HAVE to be done in this order/manner? It does not.

first, you turn the faucet off.
then, you control what you want to allow. yes, this is where congress may actually have to do something, but all of the laws in the world are no good, unless you control of the situation. IE control of the borders.

thank you. have a nice day.

Or make it harder, more expensive, slower, less safe to immigrate illegally than legally.

We have told illegals for decades that we welcome them with open arms. We’ve incentivized it.

There isn’t a deterrent because the reality is we want an open, lawless southern border.

Which is why he said he would veto this bill if it got to them.

What is your source of knowledge and awareness on each of these districts?

Why would you assume districts that went Republican 18 months ago would vote dem in 2020?

I also contacted his office to let them know this was not acceptable.

The premise is that the GOP would replace a moderate candidate who is able to draw Independent voters and even the occasional Dem with a Rightist who would NOT draw those same votes.

My knowledge of Hurd’s district is personal. My family has had a big ranch there for many decades. I am quite familiar with the electorate. My familiarity with the other six districts comes from reading and understanding what I read,

So, moderate is the key to winning these districts. Did the dems present anyone close to being moderate in each of these districts in 2018"

Do you believe the dems are trending towards moderation?

in a sense, but not the one that you implied. There are more Democrats than Republicans in those districts, certainly in the Hurd district. The key for REPUBLICANS to win is the ability to gain a disproportionate share the independent/moderate vote. If that vote splits down the middle, the Dem wins.

Diaz-Balart's district is a Republican stronghold but it would be pretty difficult for a non-Hispanic to win. Not many Hispanics (even Cuban) are going to publicly oppose amnesty. To Hank's point, he votes in line with Party positions at a pretty high clip.
