You are correct, that scripture is severely misunderstood

You don't get freedom from religion, its freedom of religion. Don't like it? Ignore it or leave

Clearly you have never read 1 Corinthians chapter 14 or 1 Corinthians 13:8, that was never the point of those gifts because they didn’t have time to learn every language, not get up front and speak useless gibberish that is “miraculously” interpreted to fit the needs of the speaker. The time and place for those gifts are over. It’s no different than “faith healers” or the “prosperity gospel”

I'll give you a hint: The one. TRUE Catholic Apostolic Church.

If only disciples could hear confessions

And Jesus gave them that power, and also through the Holy Spirit to pass it on through the generations through his Church

Your biblical ignorance is obvious. Your simply spouting off what you learned in Catholic catechism class.
Here's an easy one for ya to check out. Why does the Catholic Church baptize in the "trinity" when Peter(your first pope), Paul, and others baptized in the name of Jesus???? Acts 10/48

Remember, these folks walked, talked, shared meals, and saw Jesus perform miracles. Im certain they weren't confused.

Really???? So who decides this??? Please, show me where Jesus or any of His disciples said that anything had this "time limit" you speak of.

In fact, Jesus said, "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."

The book of Acts tells us clearly how the disciples acted after receiving the Holy Spirit.
When folks recived the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts, how did others recognize that they had been filled?????
I'll help ya out.....

quote:

Acts 2:4: On Pentecost, the apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues, enabling them to proclaim the gospel in languages understood by diverse crowds.

Acts 10:44-46: Gentiles in Cornelius’ household received the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues, confirming to the Jewish believers that God’s grace extended to non-Jews.

Acts 19:6: In Ephesus, after Paul laid hands on new believers, they spoke in tongues and prophesied upon receiving the Holy Spirit.

Speaking in tongues just sounds like a livestock auctioneer sped up a little bit. You can make them stop by sneaking up behind them and yelling "SOLD".

Cringe AF.

This is not Christianity this is heretical Scofieldesque Dispensationalism and the fact it has infiltrated the White Office makes the current administration look at best, kooky.

Get this shite out of the White House and turn the country towards Catholicism

Because you think prayer only counts if it's through a priest and spoken in Latin?

Nope...not gonna judge these people. I don't know their hearts, but God does. I'll let Him do the judging!

Did you actually read the part where they will cease? Clearly you didn’t, and Paul makes it abundantly clear in Chapter 13 verses 9-10 that it is temporary. You nor I am an Apostle and those gifts were given to them for the specific purpose of showing God’s power before the written word was complete, not so some goofball can stand on stage and speak gibberish or pretend to be healed in a wheelchair. God gave you a brain, use it lol unless you are under the impression that the laying on of hands is actually real? I guess children children who have no sin, dying from cancer just didn’t believe hard enough or find the right faith healer

Would rather have this happen hourly than a bunch of trannies running around shirtless while scissoring on the resolute desk.

I don't know what Book chapter 13 your referring to. I absolutely believe the laying on of hands is real, and I've seen it with my own eyes. To my own son. I have experienced everything your telling me isn't real!
I don't know why some children die from cancer, I don't know who will go to heaven or hell, all that is God's business. I don't pretend to have those answers because we aren't supposed to.

Please, where does Paul say the gufts will cease.
And why would Jesus tell us to go forth and do as He has done and greater if His power is no longer relevant.

Folks and organized religion attempt to put God and His power in a box. Nothing has ceased or gone away, Jesus is still available and He's faithful to his promises. We are the ones that have neutered our understanding of Jesus.
Maybe whats missing here is your not having experienced some of this which we speak because you believe it's not for you......

Found it.....
"Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears."

So, according to your logic knowledge should also have ceased. Smh... it's obvious Paul is making a point here, and the context is that love is the most important thing (love of God and one another).

Man, Im not trying to convince you or whatever. You do you. Im just pointing out that your opinions aren't supported by scripture,Jesus, or the disciples in the book of Acts. All of that exist today.

1 Corinthians 13:8-10; I have no doubt your son and others have been healed by God through prayer but that is irrelevant to the laying on of hands.
