I don’t know the legal grounds for delaying the election but there’s no way this election will be acceptable to either side regardless of who wins.

Our first issue is the likelihood of mass voting irregularities and potential voter fraud from mail in voting that’s expected to top over 60 million mail in ballots. If Covid19 is so dangerous that we must destroy the economy to contain the pandemic then it’s too dangerous to vote, I’m sure Dims would agree...yeah. Lol!

The second issue, it appears there’s potentially grounds for a much needed investigation into the Biden family’s palm greasing self enrichment scandal that needs to be dealt with...and some of this frickery involved US taxpayer money. Do we have any baws on this forum with a constitutional legal background who can comment on the possibility of delaying the election?

It’s better to vote while the iron is hot with the Biden information being released so close to the election. They will twist the story and change the narrative if given enough time. See: Russia gaslighting, Ukraine impeachment for examples

Eh. Someone would have to be smoking crack to support Biden at this point.

Both sides are dug in, delaying the election will do nothing to change anything that will or won’t happen.

House and Senate would both have to agree to delay I believe. At least from what I remember when Trump joked about it a few months ago

Let’s say in the next week Sloe Joe were to be incriminated in a corruption scandal while he was VP and the evidence is irrefutable, can we really hold an election until this situation is resolved? Or is Sloe Joe jettisoned and Shamala picks a VP running mate?

They knew these things would come out in October and be the October surprise. That’s why they’ve pushed early voting so hard. They needed as many people to vote for Biden before this spilled over as possible.

You think just because their party picked a horrible candidate they are allowed additional time to redo their nomination process? Where is that stated in the electoral laws?

Yes. Absolutely. The American people can still vote.

Postponing the election sets the precedent to postpone every single election afterwards because of accusations.

There was an entire nomination and election process for Biden and he won. He was chosen as the best the entire party had to offer.

If he crumbles, sorry, choose better next time.

Not accusations, irrefutable evidence of mass corruption. I want the Dim party as it exists today to fall hard!

You don’t think more trash is coming out between now and Nov 3? Trust me, There are massive allegations against Trump waiting to be released before the election. The closer to Nov 3 the less time to defend against accusations.

I think the answer is pretty simple: they follow the party’s rules to replace the candidate who withdrew their candidacy. If Biden doesn’t withdraw, there is no reason to delay anything.
