The enemy of free speech, on display

TRUMP should not agree to this.
Posted on 10/19/20 at 6:58 pm to nateslu1
So a liberal "moderator" will only mute Trump when he is trying to make a point?

Just walk on stage with a megaphone?

Trump should bring this for when he gets muted

I was wondering how they'd avoid the hunter topic. I hate them so much.

They are trying to get Trump to back out so Joe doesn’t have to get exposed.
Edit: ok - having read the details where the mic is only disabled during the dedicated 2 min each candidate has to answer the moderAtors question, I can support that as it still allows several minutes of open mic debate after that.
They gray area is if the moderator just moves on to the next question after that 2 min has expired and denies debate.

Wait seriously? How can anyone think this is a good idea?
They are intentionally trying to sabotage this debate. They are trying to make the terms so untenable to Trump that he bows out and they say “see he won’t debate!!!!”

The Commission on Presidential Debates is poised to take an additional step to enforce the rules of Thursday’s final matchup between President Trump and Joseph R. Biden Jr.
As in the first debate, each candidate will be allotted two minutes of speaking time to initially answer the moderator’s questions. But under a plan being finalized by the commission on Monday, his opponent’s microphone would be turned off during that period, an attempt to ensure an uninterrupted response.
After the candidates finish their two-minute replies, they would be allowed to freely engage with one another for the remainder of the segment. (The debate is divided into six segments of 15 minutes apiece.)
Two people with knowledge of the commission’s discussions outlined the proposed microphone change for Thursday’s debate, requesting anonymity to share plans that had yet to be formally announced. An announcement could come as soon as Monday evening.

Moderator @kwelkernbc will *not* have a "mute button."
Instead, the candidates' mics will be automatically turned off during the other's opening 2-minute replies.
It's 6 segments, 15 minutes each. That leaves 9 min per segment for open debate.

He should let them get their way then based on the 11th hour rule changes and rehashing of topics already discussed in the first debate

Probably trump, since he’s the one doing 90% of the interrupting

You know they once threatened to cut off Reagan's mic. He famously said, "I am paying for this microphone." It is considered by many a turning point in his campaign.

Did you watch the debate? He basically muted Joe every single time Joe tried to make a point.
Why are you guys so scared? Worried that Trump will be exposed, without the opportunity to interrupt Joe every 5 seconds?
