I support the war in Ukraine because I'd rather the U.S. help pay for a war than to actually have to fight one. If Putin defeats Ukraine and rolls into Poland, we're in it.

We’re in it already. This prelim is to lessen our capabilities before we are active hot.
And it’s working

Every single point you make is wrong and backwards. If we weren't "paying" for this war, the war would already be over.

U.S. Infantry, Armored Cav, Artillery, and Air Force aren't engaged.....yet. Best estimates are that the Ukrainians have inflicted 3 to 1 casualties, which is about average for the home team when the sides are pretty evenly matched. If NATO forces were truly in the fight, this would be a slaughter and Putin would have no choice but to go home or resort to battlefield nukes. I'd rather Ukraine finish this without us.

It takes 32 months to produce a Javelin from when the order is placed source. As of mid 2022 we'd sent a third of our inventory of Javelins to UKR.

We could have just told Ukraine to come take over our operations in Kandahar, they easily would have sent 2,000 troops to gain access to the billions of dollars of weaponry we left there.

Unforced errors on our part.

No, we'd be fighting it in Poland. Ukraine itself does Russia no good. They have to secure the Polish Plains and the Bessarabian Gap. Personally, I don't want to see Putin reconstitute the old Soviet Union.

I think Poland would fight Russia to a draw, at worst, and would probably give them an arse-whipping. Still, we are contractually obligated to assist Poland militarily. I'd rather this fight not make it to Poland.

But then if you revisit the Julian Assange quote about Afghanistan then you realize this is just the next Afghanistan and NOT a real war. Someone is just getting in the way of our elite and them stealing tax payer money.

"The goal is to use Afghanistan to wash money out of the tax bases of the US and Europe through Afghanistan and back into the hands of a transnational security elite. The goal is an endless war, not a successful war" Julian Assange

This isn't some concocted money-laundering scheme....although our politicians are more than happy to take advantage of this war for that purpose. This is an actual war that's probably killed hundreds of thousands, mostly civilians, so far. I don't think that a single liquid dollar should go to Ukraine. Pedo Joe propping up their pension system while our own citizens are drowning in the inflation and high interest rates is absolute bullshite. The aid should be military hardware only. No cash.

One problem. They were ready to sign a peace treaty. Poland wasn't the target and saying it WAS the target is just not correct.

But, if I had to make a bet I would bet that the war will spread to Poland and beyond now that the USA, NATO and China are now egging it all on.

Putin is not going to attack Poland when he inevitably achieves his objectives against Ukraine. NATO should never have dangled possible membership to the Ukraine.

This was the reasoning that was used for Viet Nam.
If Nam fell, than they would go after, Thailand, Then Cambodia, Then Korea etc.

Same ole sang and dog and pony show.

It was called the domino effect.

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
