quote:
This is objectively true. We’ve had by far the greatest military in the world for generations.
Because we have been the wealthiest nation in the world for generations. We should have the greatest military. Saying that we have funded a "war machine" is language specifically intended to suggest that we've thrown all of our money into making war, for the sake of making war. And that simply isn't true.
quote:
Also true. We have $38T in debt. We would and are launching missiles or staging coups against nations like Venezuela and Iran that were involved in trying to undermine our reserve currency status.
Oh, really? We're 38 trillion dollars in debt?... Yeah, I'm aware, I live in this country just like you do. Our debt is not about building a war machine. It's about spending money on socialist programs, and disincentivizing people from working, that are by far our biggest issues. Do you know that we now spend more money paying interest than national defense? That's the thing about being trillions of dollars in debt. It tends to mean skyrocketing interest.
You think these attacks on the Iranian and Venezuelan governments are about them trying to undermine our reserve currency? How about the fact that we're actively securing deals for oil, gold, and minerals from Venezuela, as well as shutting down their cartel operation that greatly affects us? How about shutting down Iran's nuclear capabilities, when they have vowed death to America? How about disrupting the pipelines to some of our adversaries who rely on Iran?
You seem to be very good at throwing a lot of words around, but never actually acknowledging what's really going on.
quote:
This is a statement without substantive backup. It’s like a marketing line in a commercial that’s designed to convey a feeling to the customer without making any claims theyre ready to backup using facts.
You mean like saying "we've funded the greatest war machine in history", but never giving any facts?
quote:
It’s like using the phrase “conspiracy theory”, it’s used to deflect from any real discussion around a topic without debunking it using facts or logic. It’s just an emotional call to ignore and was created for that specific purpose by the CIA.
The CIA may have had its own purpose in mind, but the fact of the matter is that people absolutely do create theories of conspiratorial nature, often not supported by facts, but instead suspicions which, themselves, often are rooted in paranoia.
In my case, I don't use the word to distract from the point. I use the word because there wasn't a clear point, but just buzz phrases thrown about. It isn't worth my time going down the rabbit hole with someone who just throws assertions around. But if someone wants to get into, like you, I'll go there. And I just gave you the substance behind my words.
quote:
Debt service isn’t an imaginary problem.
Fighting wars to destroy BRICS and eliminate regional competitors isn’t an imaginary solution.
Here’s noted right wing conspiracy theory group council for foreign relations talking about it prior to Trump responding using missiles and regime change to subvert it:
Imaginary solution? I said imaginary problems. And why are you quoting what you call a conspiracy group to make a point? What are we doing here, exactly?

Everyone in the world literally owes us.
What?!
The world owes the US a couple hundred billion dollars.nothing in the grand scheme of things.
The world owns trillions of dollars of us assets such as treasuries.

Among other things, the “war machine” gives us control of the energy supply,
We could get that without spending more on defense than Russia, China, Germany, UK, India, Saudi Arabia, France, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Israel, Ukraine, Poland combined, and then adding another 500B which Trump has asked for.
At this point, it’s just an industry propped up by .gov and pointing a gun at taxpayers and screaming “feed me”

quote:
That we funded a war machine
The military industrial complex has controlled Washington since the days of Eisenhower, who warned us about it on his farewell address.
I thought this was common knowledge, honestly.
quote:
also that our dollars are backed by debt fueled missiles
What, in fact, are our dollars backed by if not our bombs?

And if we don’t feed it, it will go somewhere else to get fed. I’d much rather have the best and brightest defense engineers making their money in the USA than somewhere else. Wouldn’t you?
