The US has over $30 trillion in debt, I have a couple of questions.

With $30 trillion of debt why aren’t major thoroughfares paved in gold? Why aren’t all major bridges and overpasses encrusted in diamonds and precious stones. I know these questions seem absurd but with $30 trillion of US debt couldn’t the taxpayers expect to see some tangible evidence for all the debt that’s been placed on their backs?
Couldn’t the American people at least have the expectations of having the most well maintained infrastructure throughout the nation rather than our infrastructure in steady decline? $30 Trillion!!!!!

The actual debt number is well into 15 digits when one considers unfunded liabilities.

I read somewhere recently that most of that debt apparently is owed to the Us taxpayer through SS and other programs. It’s not actually owned en masse by other countries.
I didn’t look into it much past the headline.

The vast majority of that happened in the last 20 years when the US was used to push globalization

The actual debt is MUCH higher.

It’s expected of each US citizen to live within the means and confines of your household income and but for some inexplicable reason this same principle is not expected of our federal government …..hmmm.

We could sell a state or 2, to china and be debt free.
they would pay 100 trillion for california.
they would pay 100 trillion for california.

It's always been that way throughout history. We all know how Britain ruled the seas for over 200 years. They didn't build their navy to discover new land or defend their shores. The building boom was to rob Spanish ships laden with gold from the new world and give it to the monarchs.

As much as I dislike Cali, I wouldn't think selling silicon valley to China would help

You left out the cost of unfunded liabilities. Staggering.

Just sell off some of the Bay Area. Besides, swallwell is already owned by them and feinstein employed a spy too. We didn't do anything to get lumped in with them.

What ever isn’t sold off, they put on the books at the Fed Reserve and they carry the debt. It’s all on paper because the US dollar isn’t backed in Gold. They just print what they want, and tell the tax payers they have to pay more to cover it. It’s a large transfer of wealth from middle America to the elites. Sham!

I live in the foothills so I can agree with this compromise.
