So they got rid of the filibuster??

if they let them pass anything with just 51 votes other than judge confirmations you can kiss it goodbye

So the senate will just be an extension of the house. One party rule.

We will just grow more divided as a nation and laws will flip back and forth like a light switch.

There is a lot of confusion in this thread, which bears a terrible thread title.

The filibuster was saved by this maneuver. This outcome was the best the GOP could have hoped for. The underlying message is that at least 2 moderate Senate Democrats are not on board with radical restructuring of the country.

Not smarter, TH...just ruthless. Something that a true 'Conservative' can not be. Innate Morality negates such. Though when the limits of Morality are abandoned, as a last resort to defend life and that which is good...the pent up passion really goes rogue.

What we're saying is that relying on false promises is stupid and the filibuster is dead as soon as it's convenient

The two dems will state something like 'Well I had no idea the Republicans would abuse the filibuster like this' or something about 'obstruction' or even 'White Supremacy'

Well, maybe you have faith in deals struck by Republicans with Dems but I have seen too many fail before...

Right now. You need to learn that. Right now. Also, you have Romney and a couple other cuck Senators that might actually be on board with it...

Nothing was saved by Mitch's actions... He should have done away with it years ago and pushed Trump's agenda through...

Now, we will sit here, while the Dems push their's through...

We were going to do it to them or they were going to do it to us

We didn't do it to them

His handlers certainly didn't want all of Trump's agenda getting through....they were willing to go all in on the judges (namely because they had them in their back pocket all along) but that's about it.

The filibuster was never going anywhere with Trump in office.

I understand that but it still stands as why the Republicans talk a good game and yet when it comes to moving this country in the direction they were elected to move it, stumble and fail...

So, by waiting, they just let the Dems stall and now they will do away with it...

Very confident he will be rolled by Schumer on this, no doubt.

Since you have 81 posts, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt, and assume you’re trolling. Because the only other option is you’re mentally retarded.

Late Monday, McConnell said he was ready to move forward after two Democrats signaled they would not vote to end the legislative filibuster, assuring him that it would stay in place.

I highly doubt that the Senate does away with the filibuster because the dems know they will be in the minority again. Plus the two dems that said they would not vote to do away with it will keep it because the threat of them deciding to vote to do away with it gives them a lot of power. If they actually vote to do away with it, then they lose that power. With all that being said, Mitch is stupid to trust Schumer and the dems, and it is time to replace Mitch as the leader of the senate GOP.
