The Senate DACA deal would do the following:
– DACA amnesty – Undo the rollback of Temporary Protected Status for Haitians, Salvadorans and Nicaraguans which has recently been touted as a white pill on several websites.
In exchange:
– Revamp, but not end, the diversity lottery
– Rework, but not end, the formula for chain migration. DREAMers wouldn’t be allowed to sponsor relatives
– Strengthen the e-Verify system
– Less than $9 billion for some type of physical structure on the Mexican border

If I was POTUS and they sent me this bill, I would wipe my arse with it and mail it back to Congress with a shitty shite brown veto stamped on it.
What a clownshow of a bill.
The GOP can end the chain migration and diversity lottery because they have the goddamn majority. fricking use it!!!

they are going to pay a heavy price.

The only problem is it is stupid to compromise on the issue that swept you into office.
It's compromise or get nothing.

The "compromise" is political defeat in this context.
Manageable defeat. It's not like he's going to hemorrhage voters who backed him because of immigration to the Democrat nominee in 2020.

Oh, no the cost of goods is going to go up instead of the externalities imposed by this foolish policy sinking the ship.

False. The Democrat's leverage is shutting the government down. Let them. If they want to die on the hill of people who aren't citizens at the expense of actual constituents, we shouldn't stop them from killing themselves.
Also Trump could build the wall tomorrow if he wanted to. I personally think he should.

Dude, illegal immigration alone costs us well over a hundred billion dollars a year and that number is going to keep rising with each passing year. That's money stolen from worthwhile projects and programs that should be used for americans only.
And that's not even touching on excessive legal immigration with chain migration and diversity lottery being completely abused severely.
Yeah, I don't give a shite if I have to pay a few more dollars if that's what it takes to get control of our borders and reestablish our sovereignty.

The Dems leverage is the dreamers are sympathetic and they get to spin a narrative of the GOP being heartless for racist reasons. Plus Trump and the Republicans need to get some border security stuff out of this. Dems just need to look like they're fighting a righteous fight, but there's no winning for them if they shut down the government. It's a stupid threat.

Now, if they actually shut down the government, it's a really stupid play. So I guess it's 50/50 on if they'd do it or not.

Keep voting for the Luther Stranges of the world and establishment candidates and this is what you’ll get in the gop.

why are we having temporary status for people who had a disaster in their country 2-3 DECADES ago?
because they were only allowed to come here under the conditions that they must assimilate, find jobs, and apply for US citizenship. they had some 20 years to do this but hardly no one has even tried to apply for citizenship.
all they are saying is, you had over 20 years to do it so apply for citizenship or get the hell out
