The Right Has Its Own Version of Political Correctness. It’s Just as Stifling.

Very much. I had no issue, actually thought it was touching, that Mariano Rivera's supporters had small Panama flags at his induction to the HoF. He never once trashed the country that provided an opportunity to be successful.

I do take issue with the American flag bring taken down and the Mexican flag being raised in it's place. Or flying above the American flag.

It's good to know who you are and where you're from. You don't like it? You can go where you think it's better.

The primary difference, of course, being that patriotic correctness would be based in the Constitution. The First Amendment doesn’t protect you from ridicule. As a conservative, I support your right to air your thoughts publicly because it also gives me the right to say, “frick your feels.”

Political correctness doesn’t allow for anyone to say anything that might hurt your feelings. Big difference. Conservatives don’t need protection from liberals. We do enjoy each other’s company. It’s a natural inclination. That’s why birds of a feather flock together. Despite some folks’ insistence that everything is just a choice (like gender).

Good post. I agree I’m part. But the ridicule or whatever can serve to shite down debate, prevent ideas from being exchanged or have the end of running off those who don’t toe the line so to speak.

I ridicule safe spaces and don’t retreat to Breitbart or talk radio. I also don’t have temper tantrums, which is interesting wording by the author.

Any attempts to shut down debate is bad. Both sides are guilty of it. Somewhere along the way we forgot that people can disagree without it getting to all this hatred we see today.
