While I have issues with AF/MAGA folks we always need to remember that we all face a much greater enemy the progressive/marxist left.

One area they have made inroads and needs push back is slavery. While bad, there is no real defense of the institution, we know that in the US it was much less worse than other areas and the practice was much greater than anything the US saw:

Let's never forget it was black tribes that originally sold the slaves and there were also thousands of free blacks on America that owned thousands of slaves.

Free blacks owned slaves all over, especially in New Orleans.

The largest slave holder in NC was a black guy.

This simple fact destroys every Progressive argument about the Institution of slavery in America.

you are too intelligent to continue repeating this stupid lie.

William Ellison is the individual you reference. He owned about 170 slaves. Yes, he was a large slave owner

Amongst all slave owners in the state, he probably didn’t crack the top 50.

Of course.

What idiot told you anything different?

Do YOU now agree that the largest slaveholder in North Carolina was NOT a Black man?

Will you commit to stop posting that nonsense and to join me in correcting the posters who knowingly misrepresent that specious claim as "fact?"

How great would modern day America be without slavery?

This idea that "we" made a mistake is the problem. The reality is slavery was normal when the US was founded. It's like saying at some point in the future "the internet" was the biggest mistake we made in the year 2010 without acknowledging that it was the norm for everyone.

Everyone owned slaves. Slavery was normal. The US did not invent it or decide on it, it was the norm.

Not everyone. Most people didnt, but yes it was practiced across the world.

I still find it abhorrent, and it fricked us in the end.

Call it Karma, but we are definitely paying for it.

America wouldn’t be what it is without slaves. Everyone gets mad but never mad at their own country who sold them. We just capitalized and maximized their output better than anyone. Slaves in the US still had it better than anywhere else and their ancestors now benefit more than whites. Just like now we have illegals coming here who benefit more than Americans but we are the bad guys telling them they have to do it legally.

Disagree. We are what we are because of visionaries and the industrial age. The information age has been good to us too.

Yes, all societies owned slaves at one point. That's a fact. What we are paying for is the idea that this horrible institution stained us uniquely and so we owe a debt to those who were enslaved. Everyone can claim to be from a people who were enslaved if you go back far enough.

You don't have to support or like slavery to see it is not "our original sin" nor to see how the issue is being used by progressive as a form of self hate and anti-western bigotry.

The industrial age started when we left Europe and we scaled and capitalized on it. Slavery was still a part of that.

Just saying we had slaves before we became a country and we basically stole and scaled industry from uk/europe. It is ridiculous we get criticism for it like we were the only ones to do it, especially when there are still people enslaved today around the world. Nothing like talking about slavery in the US when China enslaves its citizens, harvests their organs and commits mass genocide in Asia and around the world.
