I remember that thread. I don’t think I commented in it but it wasn’t similar to this at all if I’m thinking of the same thread.

Goodwill is a known ripoff. Most money goes to the people who run things, little goes to help anyone in need.

Not sure, some of them might.

I don't give to anywhere that I don't know how they operate directly...even if supposedly local tbh. Too many good places need money to bother sending it off to some unknown. This applies to those bell-ringers at every store before Christmas as well. Wish they would disappear.....

Non-profits have become a grift.

Clinton’s turned nonprofit political corruption into a science.

Al Gore is probably the biggest Charity Freeloader. Or John Kerry. Using junk science and environmental scare tactics to promote their own wealth and lower.

But today isn’t about that. Today is about one person helping another person. Or one person helping an animal. Charity begins at home.

Cannot state this enough. The more national you go, the waste grows exponentially.
We are a big part of fostering animals with probably about 50 to 100 pets fostered in 2023 alone. Just picked up 3 calico cats, with one pregnant.
We have received little to nothing from any national group.
We have received some food ( some expired or holes in the bags) and litter, etc from some local humane society, but that's the biggest group.
Definitely nothing from any national group.
And expenses run pretty high from vet bills, to food, etc.

Okay, just out of curiosity, who the heck downvotes giving pet food to the local pet shelter?

Incredible, isn't it?

But suppose there are a number of ways - some even subtle - to reveal callous indifference and hints of psychopathy.

If you are really wanting to run a non profit support group, for any cause, if you really care, the biggest goal would be to get to the point where the help group is no longer needed and you can sit back and say "mission accomplished".
But, some groups are dependent upon themselves to continue on indefinitely so they can continue their sponging off the very support group created.

Are you saying the poster is crying for help or showing a red flag.

Or maybe today the poster is just playing Scrooge.

The former.

This is a sore spot with us over here who have seen and had to deal with indescribable abuse at the private and professional levels that would sicken all but the worst, most irretrievable psychopath.

Doing good work there. Calico cats are the best.

Slidell has a no kill shelter off Fremaux. They have an old calico with no teeth. She will most likely live out her years there.
