The Rave That was attacked by Hamas

The Nova Music Fesitval with the techopsych music and the hallucinogens and the Pagan statues... raving on the Sabath in the middle of the Negev Desert, the same place the Israelis wandered for 40 years. And we have all read that account in Exodus. Basically a similar scenario around 10,000 years ago, when the Israelis partied in the desert while Moses was on Mt Sinai. And because of the Golden Calf incident, God basically ordered the deaths of 3000 Israelites.
There seems to be some parallels between these incidents. So I would like to ask the Bible scholars to reconcile the notion that Israel has Carte Blanche to act on this when they are basically the same people whom God nearly destroyed in the same location for their ungodly behavior.
It was this sort of stuff that resulted in the Assyrians, Babylonians, and Finally the Romans scattering Israel to the winds.
And it just seems odd that it would be the opening act of Armageddon.
Israel must convert. A reassembled secular humanistic Israel doesn't seem to me to be the necessary first step for History to draw to a close.
God has never unconditionally backed Israel regardless of their behavior. Quite the contrary.
And yet, we are supposed to or face God's wrath?

True Israel does the works in faith of their father Abraham... otherwise you are a child of the adversary. This is the distinction of all mankind and what is hard to grasp for so many.
