They are. If they had to send reinforcements then they are. They thought they could win with the scrub army.

No, they aren’t. How can you be so stupid? You clearly don’t understand their objectives

They didn’t, Russia doesn’t care about casualties as much as the US. They use conscripts to soften the enemy then they send in the experienced troops to encircle you.

What are there clear objectives then?… installing a pro-Russian regime in Kyiv?… that’s further away now than it was 13 days ago…. weakening NATO and the EU?… that’s backfired…. Securing its board?… creating instability next door is prob the worst way to do it.

I’m genuinely curious.

From the standpoint of meeting his objectives I dont see how he "wins" this special operation.

Ukraine will never be a friend of Russia after this. Part of me worried their units would surrender and how the locals would just submit. But that's not the case.

Our media is no different than this guy was for Iraq 19 years ago.

I don’t see it either… everything about it so far feels like Russia has no real clue how to take on something this complex, so now the response is just gonna be raze everything to the ground… history has shown this to be an ineffective way to achieve political goals.

I’m not saying it’s impossible… I just don’t see it.

The goals are pretty clear, acquire Crimea and eastern Ukraine, establish the rest as a permanent neutral zone

This can only be enforced through regime change and military occupation… it’s the same problem people don’t understand with a no-fly zone (It doesn’t work unless someone enforces it).

Russia's not losing. There's tons of propaganda being put out to show how incompetent they are, which fits our (US and the West) agenda.

Taking Ukraine or any other Eastern European country is far different than rolling over a Middle East state. We're seeing Russia advance solidly, even through our biased perspective.

Stop looking at videos and 'human interest' stories, and watch the map evolve. That's really the only part that matters... if you're judging the actual conflict.

They are plodding through trying to do as little damage as possible. Everyone outside the west understands this. They are taking more casualties doing this approach. My guess is once they clear the populated portions on the outside cities they will move rather quickly through the non populated areas. There are thousands of towns they have to clear. The forces north of Kiev are waiting for more forces to get there to get a surrender. Ukraine soldiers embedding themselves with civilians is making their plodding more difficult. I saw missiles be shot out in the middle of Kiev on the news. I’ve seen anti aircraft guns wedged between 2 apartment buildings. These are huge no no’s because those sites become targets, which obviously puts civilians at risk. That’s why it’s a war crime

What do you do when they are coming to decapitate your government. Are you saying Russia is playing by the rules?

To claim this you need to define ‘winning’… you can make an argument Russian is ‘winning’ the military campaign (that is debatable), but military action is a means to a political end… what is the political goal Russia has in mind?

Just like when bush declared “mission accomplished” in Iraq, at some point the military maneuvers end and the occupation/pacification begins… does anyone honestly think the Russian military can successfully occupy Ukraine?… you’d had to be a fool to think that.
