BTW... your president still refuses to stop purchasing OIL from the invaders.
POTUS doesnt buy oil....refineries do. Shippers transport the oil to the refineries. Many have stopped shipping & buying Russian oil on their own over the last few weeks.

No that is Russia. The only politicians who have been jailed in Ukraine are the ones that the anti-corruption courts have prosecuted.

Moscow Stock Exchange to remain closed for 5th day
Moscow’s stock exchange stayed closed for an entire week, and the Russian government didn’t expect the Swiss to go along with the sanctions. The western intel ppl who were right about a lot of the intelligence stuff released prior to the invasion said that without access to the international financial community it only had cash reserves for ten days of fighting. Today is day 8 of the war. If the intel ppl were even partly correct then the Russian stock market is going to crash next week.
I know that China is supposedly Putin’s partner in all of this, but China needs energy sources. Western and eastern Siberia have vast energy sources and Putin is stripping his forces from the area. You have to wonder if Xi and the CCP are looking at the situation and thinking “why should we pay for Russian oil and gas and piss off Europe and the USA? When we could invade Siberia, seize the oil and natural gas we need, secure our main railroad access to European markets which is now uneconomical due to sanctions, and gain good PR with the western customers.”
ETA: Yes I know that is the plot in a Tom Clancy novel.

You did not read that right. I said I wonder if as the war drags on China starts to think about it.

I can't imagine the Russians are pushing forward with offensive maneuvers if they only have 2 more days of supplies / resources / whatever.
If they were really up against the wall, I imagine they'd stay still, defend their gains and start looking for solutions to end the conflict.
The offensive moves isn't some desperate gamble of a fading force, IMO, it's a sign that intel was wrong about Russian ability to sustain the attack.

Both sides lie in every conflict. You're choosing to believe one side more than the other because you want to.
In this conflict essentially everything coming out of one side is proven false while the other side isn't saying much of anything.
I'm not believing either side. One just happens to give a lot more material to work with.

I haven't seen gains by Russia anywhere today. They even lost an airfield in Mykolaiv that they previously held.

I dont get it either. You have a group of people that have been invaded....their lives turned upside down, many forced to flee to other countries never to see their actual homes again...those that stay could die....but they are bad guys for using propaganda against their invaders that caused this mess. lol
I'll spell it out for you;
I don't like all the propaganda the clownshow Zelensky is putting out because he is trying his damnedest to get US into their war. I don't want us in a war with another nuclear power and you shouldn't either.
His and his deputies hysterics and bald faced lies about the nuke plant were 100% to get us to overreact and jump in. Hell, they got that idiot Miss Lindsey to call for Putin's assassinations on national tv.
Of course plenty of people here are stupid enough to want to jump into another war after the last several we have been in have been sooooo successful.

With several thousand Javelin-like missiles being sent to Ukraine and bunches of Stingers, it will be an urban replay of Stalingrad.
The weapons distributed to anyone are already participating in robberies in the capital.
Today I read that with the use of Javelin, a collection vehicle was smashed and looted.

I was wondering and maybe this is the thread to ask in.
Has anyone seen any actual Ukrainian troops, in uniform?

This is reinforced by the US Army's Fiscal Year 2018 unit cost for the Javelin weapon system, which put the unit cost at $206,705. ... 90% of all United States air combat losses over the past 25 years have been ...
Seems like the robbery tool could more valuable than what they are stealing. I don't think that those are handed out willy-nilly.

Why would they? If they play the situation right they can make Russia the most valuable vassal state in the world.

If you think its about "pulling for" either, you're stupid. Ukraine winning would be the best outcome. That doesn't mean that they are doing shady stuff themselves and that we can't call them out for it. They are openly trying to goat the international community into winning this war for them because they can't themselves.
To just save the most civilian lives, a quick Russian victory would be the best outcome. But then does that embolden them to try to invade other countries? I personally don't buy that narrative, but its possible.
