The NYC experiment

I know many of us think NYC is about to go to hell and then voting for a socialist won’t happen again. I disagree. It’s going to be all a facade. NGOs, the George Soros’s etc will be behind the scenes propping up the city. They won’t let this LOOK like a failure. I just don’t think the optics are going to be what we’re hoping they will be. Obviously we also know the mainstream media controls this as well. Hope I’m wrong.

I don’t think it’ll be the dystopian disaster advertised, at least in national perception
But you can’t really hide the impacts for long if the policies are enacted and you don’t have an absolute lockdown on the populace
Like it has been lately, you’ll have polarized media coverage with both sides likely overstating impacts but the raw numbers will tell the story (and it’ll be as expected)

That is the other side of the coin, they will make it look like a socialist paradise.

I can’t wait for the twitter footage of the “free” grocery stores

I like this. Get in front of it and let the people know this is a sham. Because it will be.

Let it burn, will never step foot in these liberal hell holes.

All that really matters is population before and after. Government is incapable of making cuts so like NOLA, eventually NYC will be looking for a state or federal bailout to make payroll or pay trash collectors.
This doesn’t even touch the rampant crime and business looting spike coming and reduction in tourism.

I said in another post that they will try very hard to make it look like everything is fine. Socialism has never worked anywhere in the world, but some keep trying to push it.

This will be a 10-12 year slow burn.

Not sure I buy this, but that doesn't mean I can't be convinced of it.
Rich people there, no matter their political affiliation, have targets on their backs, and w/ a communist in charge w/ that much support, I mean it literally.
I think a whole lot of them are going to get the hell out of there in a hurry, then what? I know the corporate media will still try to prop them up, but there's so much social media and independent media out there that can show the real effects of what's happening. NYC isn't like a country where they can just print up all kinds of currency to paper over problems for a few years.
There might be a lot I'm missing, though, so hopefully this thread gets a lot more posts.

While I agree with this sentiment, these same people who cast their vote for the commie saw 1st hand what Biden & co did to the US, yet still voted for more of the same.

If they lose a million high tax payers...they are fricked.
This is the current projection.

will it possible to quantify the impact of Mamdani? San Francisco and NYC just had big COVID-related population losses but bounced back.
those cities have lost big companies to Texas, Arizona already but emerging firms and industries like AI take their place
will be watching the rent prices of NY to see if people are really moving or not.
And when Companies "Leave" chicago, NY... they dont completely pull out like how people think. i assume most companies will mirror what JPMorgan Chase is doing and building a substantial regional office in Texas while keeping their HQ in place. Oracle, Tesla and SpaceX still have big offices in California.
