If it's a hung jury, or acquittal, is there any way the judge could refuse the jury's decision?

"Vote guilty or your child dies in a hit and run accident"

"Vote guilty or your computer will be discovered with child pornography"

That works on members of Congress, no reason to think it won't work on jurors.

Even with a good answer you still get downvoted to oblivion. Got to be depressing huh?!

I'm holding firm in my belief that the two lawyers on the jury respect the law enough to hold out.

If they’re like some of the liberal lawyers in my area, they don’t care about the law when it comes to Trump. Their Facebook posts are just as deranged as the rest of the lot

No.

Acquitted? It's over.

Hung jury? Can order new trial.

Hung jury, roughly 11-1 guilty.

Best case scenario from a NY jury IMO.

Guilty after about 32 seconds of deliberation.

I would love to see someone follow the yellow brick road on this to see if family members collect any patronage from this

SFP and Hammerin' Hank would be like... "The prosecution made some very good points, Michael Cohen, while he has his faults, told us what we wanted to hear and the judge with that instruction that we simply have to believe the Trump is guilty of something... genius. We the jury find Trump guilty and furthermore declare that Trump may not appeal our verdict. This unprecedented step is necessary to stop Trump."

Unfortunately, guilty. This verdict was decided a very long time ago,

So when the inevitable guilty verdict comes down (hey, I'm not getting my hopes us, and just perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised), can he immediately appeal and to who they appeal? What district will get it? And surely the wouldn't dare actually take Trump into custody, would they?

Guilty and should be.

But, I could also see a hung jury and this thing get stalled out after the election.

It's all a mess. He's very guilty, but the prosecutors look like dipshits for bringing this case when they did -- because it does look political.

If he's Guilty, he won't go to jail. People that think that he's going to jail are fricking stupid.

If the two lawyers on the jury have any ethics , they will explain to the rest of the jury that it’s a sham trial. Since no television was allowed, you can’t tell how the jury reacted to every objection that was sustained by the judge and every objection that was overruled by the judge. Hopefully their hate for trump will NOT override their sense of the fact that the D A and judge are corrupted

Just read a professor interviewed said “This case is weak but the jury should use this opportunity to make a political statement like the OJ jury did”
