Yea, it’s just grumpy old guys from other states that know that place is a shithole.

Insurance and housing in general is very expensive here. Covid and Ida chased a lot of people away.

Has the conversation evolved into one about New Orleans being a shotholr in general vs New Orleans turning into one?

It’s weird that so many people who clearly hate New Orleans claim to visit it so often. I think Baton Rouge is a shithole so I mostly avoid going there.

Take care with chauvinist crap randomly targeting posters whose facts you've failed to refute. That could come back to bite you.

You've not followed my posts here, which is par for the course.

I grew up in St. Tammany. I love ... LOVE ... the New Orleans of my aughts and teens. It no longer exists in LA. It somewhat still exists in other locales like Charleston. That is no narrative. It's simple fact.

I won’t deny that crime happens here. I won’t deny that litter can be found here. If those are the criteria for a shithole city then we live in a shithole country.

Three people, it said, who were arrested or suspected in connection with illegal dumping incidents on Michoud Boulevard are from Slidell.
‘They drive from other parts of the state and other states to dump here, and we’re telling them that it’s unacceptable,” said Thomas.

Let's be crystal clear, none of those deflections have to do with your "grumpy old men" bigoted posits.

Wait!
Let me read that again.

The article you cited concerns efforts to stop people from illegally dumping tires and trash in Chalmette.
Right?

Meanwhile you say ... THREE ... out-of-state people MAY have been brought to Chalmette by some Slidell guys? THREE whole people?

That's your proof St Tammany has tax payer policies to export its homeless population to N.O.???

REALLY?

No, you're just 'sorry.'
And ... FWIW ... I'm sorry for you.

To paraphrase another poster, New Orleans is one of the most dangerous cities in the United States. There is no scenario where a city with that designation isn’t a shithole.

My mistake. You didn’t call anyone old.
By all means, apologies for sullying you that way. It was absolutely my mistake.

So to clarify: Let's be crystal clear, none of those deflections have to do with your "grumpy men" chauvinistic and bigoted posits.

Crime objectively has improved. The FQ is cleaner.

I gave you stats on crime 4 pages back which you completely ignored. FFS the city almost lost the Superbowl due to crime numbers.

THIS year is looking good...no doubt. You can thank the Superbowl and the new governor for that though that's about the only thing he has done good so far.

Congratulations...2025 may be the first year in a very, very long time that New Orleans isn't in the top 10 of places to be murdered.

It’s mentally ill not to be apprehensive in crime ridden shitholes like New Orleans. That said, stay in metro areas like New Orleans. I encourage you and people who think like you to show people living in affluent homogeneous rural areas like myself just how cowardly we are.

Yes, rural areas are well-known for their affluence.

The nearest big city to me is Jackson Ms.
Now don’t get me wrong 20-30 yrs ago it was already a shithole. Much smelly and uglier shithole now.
Absolutely nothing has improved.

The median priced home in my rural homogenous zip code is over a million dollars.

New Orleans is under 250k.

You are as clueless as you are mentally ill.

I’m just glad the baby let me sleep until 4:15 this morning. No shame about defending New Orleans around the clock. I hope you find a home you love as much as I love mine someday.
