They just passed legislation to

* Make it legal to piss anywhere
* Red Law (seize guns if you feel threatened)
* Any theft under $900, you can't legally force them to stop or detain them.

Sounds like all items in the stores just got raised to a retail price of $901 or higher.

Discounts will be applied if you have a membership card or other promotion lowering the cost of that Snickers bar down to $0.75.

Yep- them and the foreign landlords can all frick off with their blood money

I meant the SF government. They manipulate rent prices every day and have caused a housing shortage in many areas of the city.

Most of the big city governments in CA do- and the federal government has a hand in it as well (do you know what a section 8 voucher is worth in Santa Monica?!). They need stop this “low-income” units requirements bs. There is much to do but, being California, maybe targeting the foreign landlords is the best we can achieve

As pointed out upthread, this bullshite about storefronts being vacant for 6 months would be less of an issue if not for city bureaucracy causing people to take 12-18 months between attempting to open a location and actually opening their doors.

Instead of learning from their mistakes, they have decided to turn them into a new form of taxation.

The local politicians and administrators are far bigger enemies than foreign landlords

Empty storefronts are homeless magnets- it’s really bad.

It's California...should I feel bad for Cali? it's pretty much what they asked for isn't it?
