quote:57% of Alabama voters oppose abortion according to exit polls tonight.
A hardcore pro-choice Democrat who has been very public with his position won in Alabama. Doesn't that mean the people of Alabama have chosen their position?

Democrats get off on killing babies. Sick fricks
Doesn't surprise me though looking at the history of their "party"

Now you flip a red state BLUE. A guy who openly states that he is for aborting a baby during birth.
Abort em all, let God sort them out. Go Doug Jones!!!

No, the decision to nominate Roy Moore led to that and Roy Moore would not have done one thing about abortion.
No sir. You are wrong. Tonight allowed Jones the right to vote on the SCOTUS appointment. And he TOLD YOU AND ALL of Bama how he would vote.
Again, you Fairhope had only 2 people that you could send to the Senate and you made a choice... like it or not!

Tonight, the GOP and Alabama got stronger in the long run because we won't have that clown Roy Moore anchoring us down.
No.. you just have a pro-abortion at any stage guy and a Obama clone representing you.
A man who will vote for 3 years! Congrats.
Ginsburg is holding off retirement until the 2018n midterms. Congrats!

Neil Gorsuch, as conservative a jurist as has been put on the court since the 1980’s, was confirmed 54-45.
It doesn’t take a lot of math to figure out that he would pass regardless of who won this race. Trump would have do something ludicrous to not get a SCOTUS nomination through.

Hell no! That's how anyone with a double digit IQ knows it wasn't about doing what was right, it was done as a cheap low rate ploy to get a Dem elected.
It would take someone with a double digit IQ, like yourself, to vote for Moore in the primaries.

That's not proof. At all. Mid terms are happening now.
This will give the Dems momentum. They are only 2 seats gain now to be able to block.

Primaries did not matter tonight. What matter was the 2 people on the ballot. only 1 was going to win. That winner votes for bama for the next 3 years!

Holy shite is there some idiocy in this thread.

Jesus, there is a good argument that this result refocuses the Republican Party away from the McConnell v Bannon squabble and prevents the Democrats from having a huge talking point in every race.
Trying to predict the implications of this race ona theoretical nomination that occurs based on theoretical results of races that haven’t been decided is stupid.

Good Lord. I feel like I am having the whole Globalization conversation again with you. Remember the isolationist conversations all because Trump wanted to deal one on one with nations....
Yeah, well.... Every win or lose counts. This was a lose based on the "morals" of the GOP in bama.
Their morals got Jones put in office.

Roy Moore stated last night "If you don't believe in my character, then don't don't vote for me."
I followed the advice of the GOP Nominee. Maybe you should take it up with him.

Doug Jones, the Democrat challenging former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore for the state’s open Senate seat, says he supports a right to abortion up until the moment of birth.
His actual words..

In an interview Wednesday on “Meet the Press Daily,” Mr. Jones said he becomes a “right-to-lifer” only “once a baby is born.”
Convenienly left out is...
quote:
"I fully support a woman's freedom to choose to what happens to her own body," Jones said. "Having said that, the law for decades has been that late-term procedures are generally restricted except in the case of medical necessity. That's what I support. I don't see any changes in that."

not. I think there are other issues that push the South Republican at the moment.

I agree. He beat Strange because of Strange's ties to Bentley. Strange should have turned down the Senate appointment since he was supposed to be investigating Bentley.
Time to look ahead. Kay Ivey needs to run for Senate in 2020. Barring any scandal, she will blow Doug Jones out of the water.
