If Dems would start running soft pro-life candidates in the south then Republicans would get fricking run in a lot of races.
Maybe, maybe not. I think there are other issues that push the South Republican at the moment. Regardless, the Dems won't run any pro-life candidate because they are an unfortunately closed minded party currently.

Sorry pal.
Don't feel sorry for me. Feel sorry for the opportunity that YOU had when the next SCOTUS nominee is blocked in 2019.
Feel sorry for the babies that you HAD the opportunity to protect.
Like it or not... You made a choice tonight. It was for the worse of 2 evils.

Listen, just because the idiots in this state put an idiot like Moore on the ballot, doesn't mean I have to vote for this idiot to be moral. Drop that shite.
I agree with this. But i haven't seen many people making this claim. Rather, I've seen people defending a stance that says you vote for the R in this situation. Also, we definitely throw the term "moral" around way too much. Ultimately our righteousness is like filthy rags. (So, I'm both agreeing with you and saying we should move on.)

A hardcore pro-choice Democrat who has been very public with his position won in Alabama. Doesn't that mean the people of Alabama have chosen their position?

Sorry, I'm not going to be forced to vote for shitty, horrible candidates like Moore because I'm being held hostage by the SCOTUS. I'm not a slave to the Republican party.
Nominate non-charlatans and we aren't in this position.
Roy Moore wasn't going to do a thing to stop abortion, so take that nonsense elsewhere.

In the words of Sam Beam, "This is Alabama." I wouldn't read too much into it.

Unproven accusations
It is a fact that Roy Moore was tossed off the bench twice. He's a jack arse and he can take his goofy cult following to Antarctica while he's at it.

Abortion isn’t the only issue, but I think for a lot of poor working class whites it is a hard no for them to support any pro-choice candidate.

Look I don't like Roy Moore as much as you do but this line of thought is what Never Trumpers were trying to push through for the general election last year and I thank god every day that it didn't win enough votes.
If enough people did listen to it, SCOTUS would've been lost to constitutional conservatives for a generation, maybe more.
I would've voted Roy Moore if it mean the difference of having a GOP senate confirming Trump's judicial appointments and a democrat senate blocking them.
Some things are just too high stakes for a principled vote.

Are we going to pretend that Moore could have done something about that?

The fact is you were faced with the choice of Moore vs Jones. A fact you can not deny. So yes... You made the choice between 2 candidates.
I don't care what your justification is. Those were your choices of candidates and BAMA just elcted a guy who stated he's ok with a baby being killed during birth. A man who wants to weaponize the DOJ.
I don't care that you "won't be forced". The fact is YOU WERE FORCED and you made a decision. That decision allowed Jones in the office.

You were the same through the election of Trump and the truths coming out right now show that people like Jones (Obama admin people) weaponized the IRS and IC as a whole to go after political opponents.
Fact is , you deserve the results. HAd it not been for my generation stepping up, you would have HRC right now.
You are too ignorant and prideful to grasp it.!

Nominate non-charlatans and we aren't in this position.
That was your job to do. Then it was your job to vote for the best man. Instead, you are stuck with the worst one because of your pride!

This.! I thought when my generation came off the bench, we showed you what could be. It was in vain. Your generation is too prideful to understand the mistakes mine generation made.!

Truth is, too many people think like fairhope. They can't see the truth in things.
There was 2 choices. One of two people were going to be elected. Sitting out or writing in was only going to help Jones.
Agains ...saying it slowly....
1 of 2 people were going to be elected. You didn't send a message to anybody. There was no point to be made. ONLY RESULTS!
Now if the GOP loses 2 seats.... the SCOTUS will not change and we continue down the same path we have been.

No, the decision to nominate Roy Moore led to that and Roy Moore would not have done one thing about abortion. Tonight, the GOP and Alabama got stronger in the long run because we won't have that clown Roy Moore anchoring us down.
Nice try to wrap me into your melt though.

There is no pretending. It's in the hands of the SCOTUS.
Who votes on those appointments?
And that's hardly the only issue that will come to the SCOTUS.

You know abortion is legal, and nothing will change it right? Past time to move on.
