My Dad used to counsel these folks in his practice and saw success story one after the other when this was treated as a mental illness.
He said that what’s going on today is criminal and not in the best interest of these sick people

Meds counteract abnormal levels of neurotransmitters.

Meds are physical. Neurotransmitters are also physical. Their interactions can result in a physical improvement to a physical problem.

There is no altering the "physical problems" of the brain on this topic.

Of course there is and you illustrate one perfectly in your second sentence. The brain is an organ of the body. Within it processes such as thinking, reasoning, consciousness and the myriad emotions we feel occur.

They all happen because of the functions of the neurons. Things can go wrong within the brain, prenatally as well as after birth just as they can with any other organ.

There is no magic to the brain’s function. Consciousness is not a thing that resides in it. It’s just a process of the brain. That consciousness process is heavily influenced by every part of the body.

If the conscious of a human seeks a male to mate with, for example, and the body in which the brain resides indicates that its sexual organs are also male, then a problem can arise. If the problem is too great then stress can negatively influence the consciousness process and can be expressed in society, further exacerbating the problem.

The current most popular treatment of this problem is to alter the body so that the outward appearance, at least, is changed to present an appearance of female sexual organs.

It’s my thought that we can discover the physical cause of the brain’s record of the wrong sex organs and change it to match what happened in the womb.

It would be ideal to discover this defect during development but I think it would also be worthwhile to devote research to the development of a treatment for those who have been born.

It’s really too bad you can’t express your opinion without the fear of losing you livelihood. Ask your MD friends who are all down with this transgender BS why someone with anorexia nervosa is considered mentally ill but a person suffering from gender confusion is perfectly normal and they simply need to embrace their reality.

Well, that’s where your perception of everything exists. Perception, however is one of the processes of a very physical brain. When there are problems with the brain, then perception is logically altered.

But schools will keep redifining what their “ideal student” is and throw away metrics until it’s about 2/3 the other way.

Wow. Sorry, IP, I think our knowledge bases and experiential histories are far too divergent for a constructive discussion.

You’re a philosopher/theist and I am a scientist. To each his own. I’m enjoying my life and I hope you are as well.

Sorry, philosopher/theist, your request is not germane to the thread’s topic. Regards.

What other metric do you need other than a racial and gender breakdown that reflects the general population?

It would be immensely difficult to do. There is evidence suggesting that there is a disorder along the HPA axis, but that's just one possible route. Some other proposed routes of dysfunction include mutations in estrogen receptors to transient dysregulation of neuroendocrine hormones based on maternal stress. I've even wondered if there is the possibility of some autoantibody related disease that might resemble something like erythroblastosis fetalis. Even something like endocrine disruptors could be a possibility, which might fit in with concerns about decreasing levels of testosterone in men.

Dan Cathy does not hold the same convictions as his father and Chic Fil A corporate is plagued by the same woke BS that is common in other large corporations.

Truett Cathy began funding Camp Winshape on the campus of Berry College in Rome, Ga. In 1985. It has grown to the point where they have 4 two week camps over 2 months in the summer and now have mini-fall camps of 3-4 days during school breaks. We have been sending our kids to Winshape for several years.

One of the defining things of the camp was that each age group of boys and girls had its own special tribe name. Chippewas, Choctows, Cherokees, Apache, Comanche , etc.. The kids loved the tribal identities and took pride in it and looked forward to graduating to the next tribe after 2 years.

This year will be the first camp held in 2 years due to the covid crap in 20 and 21. Dan was persuaded that the tribal names were wrong and put an end to the 37 year camp tradition. They are now animals. Bears, Wolves, etc.

Exactly, so why did you say psychiatrists don't address the physical aspect of the brain. That lead me to believe you think something has to be carved out.
