frick Bernie. HC is not a right. It is a privilege. Why should you not be expected to pay for it?

I just saw a patient that has medicaid and unlimited visits for ER and doctor visits. She has been to the ER over 50 times in less than 3 months!!!. She will not be turned away. The average cost of an ER visit is $1389. Her ER visits alone in that time span have cost the taxpayers $70,000. That is a drop in the bucket of what is going on everyday all over this country in our ERs. I spend a fortune on health insurance that is pitiful compared to what it was pre Obamacare.

The number of crazy people, illegals, homeless people, drug addicts, etc that abuse emergency departments around the country would blow your mind.

One of my sons is married to a Canadian. She calls our healthcare system barbaric. She is not a left wing loon, she has just been exposed to nationalised healthcare for her entire life. They do have private insurance in Canada, but it's different to how ours operates. I can honestly say I've never been exposed to a situation where I didn't have coverage, but I'm perplexed as to how a country with our massive population could ever sustain even a subsidised system without having to rob Peter to pay Paul.

When you give someone unlimited access that is paid for with other people's money,

you will always create a moral hazard.

It's not hard.

My diagnosis -

The question is, what are you going to do about it? Why not reintroduce the triage system where paper cuts went to a non-emergency "doc in a box" type of clinic place located right in your building.
