Or they could just defund the DOJ of the appropriate money and refuse to confirm any DOJ nominees until they back the frick off.

No true conservative should cheer any EO, they are an anathema to our form of government.

Dont confuse conservatives with GOP cheerleaders, we are very different groups of people.

You know damned well this is an over-simplification, as the issue is Obama AGs' directives ordering subordinates to IGNORE the law!
Then state what you actually mean rather than the quip which is the POINT OF THE OP.

Agreed. It's a cowards way out and it ignores how law enforcement, especially on the federal level really works.

It's like the gay haters finding a convenient excuse saying they're not against gay marriage being legal just against it being decided in courts, not a popular vote.

For a select few that has a history of being credible and consistent, that was a legit complaint. However it was bullshite for a lot of them who just went on trash gays more.

Yet, it was included in the constitution by the framers. Obviously, they disagreed on it being an anathema to our form of government.

Worst possible path but likely one the cowards would prefer, just kick the can on down the road a bit.

No one should wish for this outcome as it accomplishes nothing and will simply just be fought again and again.

If you want your pot deal with your representatives and get the law changed, forget Sessions, no matter how repugnant I find him he is not the problem on this issue.

Then you should have no problem pasting the Article that specifically allows them.

Congress makes law. The AG enforces law. The law states DACAs are illegal. Either the law needs to change or the AG must enforce existing law. Trump put DACA right back where it should have been -- in the lap of Congress. Now Trump has put marijuana legalization right back where it should have been -- in the lap of Congress.

The AG does NOT have leeway to ignore the law.

I got receipts out the arse on this. Although the sheer quantity and shamelessness of SlowFloPro's probably warrant their own thread.

When even Sentrius manages to resist the temptation to flip you've reached some kind of Zen state of peak LINO shilling.

Dude, the weed train has already left the station. This is just ending the fight without actually fighting it. And right now it only takes all democrats and two republicans carry that out. Cory Gardner is already on board and Rand Paul is likely there too.

Weed will eventually be legal everywhere, with state by state legalizing it and Congress is just gonna get the feds to back the frick off from that.

The President's source of authority to issue Executive Orders can be found in the Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution which grants to the President the "executive Power."

I've always been consistent on this issue that "Enforce all the laws!!!" meme is complete bullshite.

Sure I fricking hated the Obama admin refusing to enforce immigration law and but I long conceded that they had that right through prosecutorial discretion and my only recourse was a political solution found at the ballot box.

Gosh, Iosh.
That took a lot of work!
I'm impressed.

Here's a secret though. To ferret out my position, you only needed to look a few posts up

you went from

to

Source of authority
mighty quickly, did you learn something tonight?

Executive orders are 100% not mentioned in the constitution anywhere and are a self awarded power, as some sort of self proclaimed quasi-libertarian you should be well awarwe of this.

I don't need to "ferret out" your position. It's stated right there in the post I screenshot. It's great that you think Congress should change the law. That's not the issue. The issue is whether you think the executive can elect not to enforce it in the meantime. And seeing as you heartily agreed with Toddy of all fricking people in calling Obama's enforcement of said law against medical marijuana "senseless" and "ridiculous" ( LINK ) it's clear your position on the latter is wholly contingent on the color of the previous electoral map.

Setting the focus and officially deciding to ignore a law are two different things.
