IMO for many in this group, deep down they are incensed, unsettled and disturbed about his alpha predisposition

It would be good for “y’all” to take a moment and consider the possibility that there are many millions of conservatives whose problem with Trump is that he’s weak. Not that he’s too alpha male.

You don’t have to layer excuses on top of excuses to rationalize mistakes made by an “alpha male”.

GOPe hate Trump so much, they actually backed someone who’s right of center.

Imagine if they’d done that for the last 30 years of elections

I’m not being dismissive of opinions against Trump outright - I’m being dismissive of those opinions that are mere tropes, more often than not having absolutely no explanation whatsoever. With no further explanation with some detail and context, it’s impossible to even have a decent rational debate with it. Which might just be the intention, not for all, but for many.

Which I wasn’t gonna say anything, but the “weak” remark would probably fit into this category. Keep in mind, that’s an observation about the comment, not commentator.

Trump has proven he can’t choose a cabinet that can take on the swamp. It’ll be horrible choice after horrible choice that will pull him into the muck on each and every issue.

That entire quote is what I have been saying from the start of the Trump vs Desantis arguement.

There will be a lot of folks on here to come and say I'm wrong.

Again.

Walk through all the excuses I’ve seen you post for DT’s poor choices to lead major/impactful gov’t agencies, the SC, for backtracking on action in immigration, and the colossal weak-kneed effort on Covid - it’s pretty f’n clear and specific how DT proved weaker than the super duper alpha male some fantasize him to be.

I haven’t specified any excuses for individual people. I have been less than complimentary of those who blatantly use 20/20 hindsight to refer to facts that they themselves weren’t aware of at the time of initial selection, yet somehow expected Trump to do so. The concept of utilizing 20/20 hindsight to criticize and denounce those initial and past actions is literally a faux pas in out society. Look it up.

There’s nothing 20/20 hindsight about knowing Trump was being played over Covid. Do you have any idea how many people knew Fauci was a political hack and a fraud? List all the times in history we tossed our economy over the cliff because of a virus. Were you shocked when it became clear Jared Kushner was more GOPe than McCarthy?

You’d have a bit of an argument if you went with “but Trump was unfairly confronted by snakes in his own administration and of course the media was ridiculous.” At least there’s some truth to that. But you are in left field believing that it would have taken seeing into the future for Trump to have avoided many of the colossal mistakes he made.

So does the GOPe throw in the towel and work against Trump or reluctantly support him?

Doesn't much matter what that part does. Mostly or totally irrelevant.
