As opposed to Mitt Romney, John McCain, GWB, and Donald Trump?

Again, name me one Republican administration that has appreciably reduced the size and scope of the federal gov't. You can't, because they haven't and won't. Drain the Swamp AMIRITE??!?!?!

Fair enough.

In reality, no one knows for certain the answers to any question until it comes up practically, rather than theoretically.

But doing nothing is no longer an option.

I’ll say this: Of the multiple new nations that have formed since WWII, Texas far outclasses all others in terms of resources, military, position, etc. It’s not even close. If Texas can’t go it alone, no one can.

and Donald Trump?

Your only chance at ever being relevant would rely on a polarizing figure like Drumpf

America would be wise not to piss Texas off when we leave this country.

Hasn’t gone up for a vote yet.
We’re shooting for a ballot measure in 2023.
We feel good about it.

And if it doesn’t happen in 2023, we’ll keep fighting until we do get a vote.

Aha.

Maybe it says more about you that you're the one who knows what that is.

My initial thought was Ducks Unlimited, but that didn't really match the context of the conversation.

Well it's got to be one or the other, right? Either the federal government is honorable and just and therefore there's no need to secede, or the federal government is vindictive and cruel and there is a need to secede.

I take issue with the second part of your framing. That isn't the argument. Most Texans who support secession are of the mind that the federal gov't is grossly incompetent, and has too many interests that run at direct cross purposes to Texan issues.

seems silly to suggest that the need to part is real but then think the feds won't shite all over you in the process.

Which is why that's not being suggested. Most Texans who support secession expect the feds to shite all over everything they can in the process. It's what they've done already to get us to this point.

I’m sorry, but anyone who has ever been to Texas and interacted with Texans knows 99% of you are more bloviation than action.

Don’t know about 99%; but we do have some talkers vs walkers.
It’s why it’s so important that those of us who believe in self-determination and sovereignty don’t sit on our hands any longer.
I encouage my friends from other states to stand up for their states as well.
