It’s not a crime. These people have a “D” behind their name.

The McCain republicans will make a deal with the democrats to not pursuit any of this in exchange for democratic support for legislation that will never become reality because the democrats will go back on their word like they always do.

Watching the republicans negotiate with democrats on Capital Hill is like watching Wyle-E-Coyote lay traps for the Roadrunner.

The FISA Court is itself a fraud. They rubber stamp these warrants without so much as a hearing or argument. Abolish FISA and we don't have this problem.

They had to break the law to preserve the democracy. Spartacus rises.

Do you think they actually know what happened to Spartacus and his followers or just watched the cool fighting and fricking parts of the series?

I still don’t have an answer to a question regarding this argument. Every other warrant obtained in America is obtained through a one sided process where a law enforcement official presents evidence to a judge and requests the warrant. The judge decides whether the evidence he is looking at indicates there is probable cause to support issuing the warrant. The subject of the warrant never gets an opportunity to oppose the warrant. In the FISA context, what purpose would a hearing serve? Who is going to argue against it? The subject of the warrant isnt going to be brought in to argue against it, just like a suspect isn’t given an opportunity to oppose the prosecutor in front of a grand jury.

Not that I approve of what happened in this context, but i don’t see how a hearing is supposed to have been conducted.

The FISA court is neccesary in this age of terrorism

The manner in which they basically face no oversight is a joke.

I posted on this board when this entire thing began that it is ENTIRELY too easy for a federal agent to obtain any warrant, let alone a FISA warrant, and was scoffed at by many. I did this for a living, every cop knows which judges are more likely to just "rubber stamp" a warrant, and there is very little oversight to make sure these judges aren't giving LEAs too much leeway, this is even more the case when we're talking about a classified court like FISA.
