Get ready for major violations of your First Amendment rights.

I'm assuming from your post, it is out of the view of govt overwatch and spying like the NSA?

No, the NSA has their hands into everything and I would expect them to have a solve for Starlink. Always use VPN if you can to make them work a little harder

Do you really believe the US Government cant get the information of your connections through a VPN company?

While I don’t like it, absolutely no where does the claimed statement of “votes to take control of the internet” occurs.

It’s an overview of making sure broadband infrastructure spending doesn’t neglect rural areas entirely.

What part of make them work a little harder did you not understand.

The US Government is not all powerful and you can make it properly difficult for them to access your data. It takes them years to crack some organizations. Properly patched OS and Browsers using Tor and VPN are very difficult for the NSA unless you end up going through one of their servers (which exist). They have to really focus in to catch people in the Dark/Deep web.

Starlink by physical design is detached from government entities and you can connect to it anywhere in the world at this point. Logically speaking, it is a US based company and bound by US laws. If the US banned Starlink though, they would have to make it illegal to own the equipment and/or "neutralize" the signals. Good luck with that NSA will have a very hard time intercepting data in space, as communication is moving to laser beams and SpaceX can route traffic through the thousands of satellites it has. Space to ground is their only option since radio waves are used there. They have laser to ground functionality in some new satellites over the poles.

So the FCC can pass a rule that the FCC has more power? Interesting precedent.
Maybe the FCC can pass a tax on Youtube programs to fund an increase in the salaries of the FCC.

The US government cannot cutoff SpaceX either, they are the most dependable space launch company on the planet and the governments go to for launches now. Once again, SpaceX is private.

Not to end your wet dream early, but Starlink does require some FCC involvement when it comes to the assigning of frequencies used by Starlink unless it is in some unlicensed band which the government could then say that is now license-able and Starlink has to find another band when another carrier begins operating in that space.

That's not bad. Especially since my current version keeps creeping higher and higher.

Last I looked at it, seems it was like a dish setup so why I held off. Not sure if it goes down during bad weather or not. A smaller hot spot puck would be cool to be more mobile.

Why Im wondering why musk didn't bring attention to this vote when it came out. For Twitter and Starlink reasons would seem to be to much political govt involvement.

If Trump gets in in 24 though this could be could timing to get his hands on this to frick with Dems and watch the melts. The whole "equity" bs needs to be nuked.

Starlink will be immune, or least can be to all this crap if needed. They have zero physical ability to touch the infrastructure, and it would take a pretty drastic step to outlaw the use of Starlink equipment.

Mehhh. They could quite easily get the other ISPs on board to block traffic from Starlink customer IPs. It would become an isolated lan full of people that can only use twitter.

And yet, these rules have been ceded by Congress to agencies which use them to control our lives and limit our freedoms...

Given the recent Supreme Court ruling, I am curious what specific authority Congress gave the FCC to implement total control of the Internet

This seems a bit fishy but it will take years before the realization government has taken control in by then it might be too late

well, if anyone could develop an internet 2.0 completely separate from 1/0 it is someone like Musk

and another 500 billion comes his way

Surely the non-zionist techies everywhere would join
