Please tell us what you feel the FCC's responsibility is as an agency?

The FCC has a duty of engaging in the definition process, first, before we can even have this discussion.

Looks to me like the FCC is just doing their job.

I'm sure you would have the same opinion under president AOC.

Umm.... we thought you folks would be slamming your fists on the table with the revelation that a polling outfit was faking their information. And the fake information could be used as suppression of voter enthusiasm.

Which broadcast outlets subject to FCC regulation promoted those fake polls?

What is hilarious is these folks were fine with the "Disinformation Governance Board" back in 2022. But now dare to start with the "ministry of truth" bs when admitted fake information is wiped off the airwaves.

Key Functions of the FCC
Regulatory Oversight
The FCC oversees the following areas:

Broadcast Media: Regulates content and ownership to promote diversity and prevent monopolies.
Telecommunications: Ensures fair competition among service providers.
Spectrum Management: Allocates and manages the radio frequency spectrum for various uses.
Consumer Protection
The FCC is tasked with protecting consumers by:

Enforcing standards of decency in broadcasting.
Addressing consumer complaints and modifying rules as necessary.
Regulating advertising to prevent false or misleading claims.
Technological Innovation
The FCC promotes technological advancements by:

Supporting investment in broadband services and infrastructure.
Encouraging the development of new communication technologies.
Rulemaking Process
The FCC adopts rules through a "notice and comment" process, allowing public input before finalizing regulations. This ensures that the agency considers diverse viewpoints in its decision-making.

You are an insufferable gas bag that refuses to walk away from hypocrisy in every point you make. It's getting old and tired.

Your honesty is refreshing. Most people on this board don't actually care about concepts like free speech and civil liberties. They just want the state to squash their opponents.

BTW, there was a poster here who insisted that Al Gore won the stolen election and he bitched about it here for 10 years after it was over. Can't remember his name but he was from New Orleans.

This is not true, at all. More dishonesty.

Both Bunk and I were against the ministry of disinformation under Biden, and both of us are against this same behavior by Trump's FCC.

Intellectual consistency is the opposite of hypocrisy.

What exact behavior?
Are you referring to the FCC advising broadcasters not to break the written rules of broadcasters?

Spewing fake lies on GOVERNMENT PUBLIC Airwaves is not free speech - It's propaganda which is illegal in the United States on Public airwaves. I am sure you knew that though!

Are you not intelligent enough to search?? Seriously. You keep asking stupid questions when there are easily accessible answers. Put forth some effort boomer. The internet is everywhere. Including the articles and information on how this is one of the polls who has been questioned in the past but it has still been used in the aggregation of polling information including the hearalded Nate Silver.

They're advising broadcasters not to break long-established regulatory rules while promoting vague threats about something that isn't defined at all and has never been interpreted to break the long-established regulatory rules, possibly breaking these rules, with no guidance whatsoever.
