i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and that he's talking about restricted (for now) Bernie style "democratic socialism" and not communism

If we did not have such a large and onerous Federal Govt, then local governments like Colorado Springs would not have had to resort to such extreme measures to keep afloat.

Maybe next, Politico can do a story on a company that bankrupted itself to support the theory that private companies are bad.

the good things about socialism
i need an exhaustive list
Consistency and predictability.
Markets are volatile. That can be good when they're going up, but bad when they crash. Socialism is consistent and steady gradual decay right up until it collapses on itself.
Socialism can sometimes be more efficient timewise because there are fewer people whose say is required to get something accomplished. If the socialist dictator wants something, it's done. No need for impact studies, comment periods, or pesky votes or elections.

having lived in colorado most my life i never saw colorado springs as particularly libertarian. they have the most churches per capita in the us as of 2010 and i would venture a guess they are still top 5. many very christian communities there and they have the new life mega church that this pervert used to run, Ted.

He is. First I've ever seen of him. He also has a podcast with Gavin McInnes that's pretty entertaining.

I wish more of these studies would come out so before people start spouting off, they can see the direct results of boneheaded decisions before they get themselves in too deep.

That how the current president of the United States was elected.

You can translate this as "dopeheads and sorry-arse drug addicts." Shoot a few of those motherfrickers while they are in the act of stealing ... and the message would have been sent to the rest. That doesn't mean that saving money with no lights was a bad idea.

yeah he's kind of leftist whacko on some social issues (i remember him doing the whole "black culture makes us cool because white culture is so boring and bland" shtick that white liberals love...the "Jazz" argument) but was 100% railing on a false rape crisis at his school on his first JRE episode

He's definitely all over the yard politically. Hell, he couldn't even characterize his political stance, but I don't think that's a bad thing. It's interesting to watch him be conflicted on things you would think are straightforward

Obama didn't say stuff would be easy. He said be hopeful that in spite of how many obstacles and as how tough it seemed that you could make change.

He said "Hope and change" and people ate it up. He said he would give people cheap healthcare because he was going to tax faceless rich people and companies. He did the same thing every other politician does - promise improvement with little to no pain.
