I've been a Believer for 51 years. This news is heartbreaking, but certainly not unexpected. The same Scripture that is the source of our strength, doctrine, hope, and understanding is the same Scripture that tells us things will get darker and darker until that glorious day when Jesus returns.

Come, Lord Jesus!

They must not have read the what the Bible has to say on the subject.

Again, this thread is showing that there is no greater hate on earth than Christian hate.

I don't see Christians going around blowing people up on a daily basis.

Churches should mind their on business.

Teach the gospel to those that want to hear it. Otherwise, shut up!

Is this what oppression looks like?

I’m actually surprised they saved 1/4 of that monstrosity for something non-sexual related.

This coming Sunday is Corpus Christi Sunday. Parishes across the world will celebrate the Body of Christ with Eucharistic processions. Meanwhile, at your local Episcopal church, Pastor Bruce will recite the Sparkle Creed and invite drag queens to the altar.

Just another reason I'm grateful to have converted to the Catholic church.

1 Timothy 4:1 4 The Holy Spirit tells us in plain words that in the last days some people will turn away from the faith. They will listen to what is said about spirits and follow the teaching about demons.

I believe 2 Timothy 4:3 describes this “church” perfectly.

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

Yeah…When some other text other than the Bible is the most invaluable part of your religion, you’re not Christian.

The Episcopal Church is a Bible Alone/Faith Alone mainline Protestant denomination. They contend that the Holy Spirit guides their reading of Scripture to reach this conclusion with regard to homosexuals.

You sat down with your Bible and reached one conclusion about homosexuals. They sat down with their Bible and reached the opposite conclusion about homosexuals. Both of you stand in the middle of the debate room, pointing fingers at each other. Both of you say the same thing at the same time, which is: "The Holy Spirit guided me to interpret the Bible Alone, and guided me to my conclusion on this issue."

When the Bible Alone system leads to such wide diversification of "Truth", logic would dictate that we conclude that perhaps this system for finding theological Truth is flawed and, therefore, NOT of either God nor the Holy Spirit.

I'm just thinking out loud here.

The BCP is the guideline for how to officiate services and how to conduct personal devotionals. It’s not a replacement for the Bible. It was never presented in Bible study courses or VBC as any kind of authority.

The Ep Church maintains that this new conclusion regarding homosexuals is firmly rooted in their Bible Alone/Faith Alone system for discerning theological Truth. The base this new theology on the Bible Alone, not on the Book of Common Prayer. I think that you have it wrong in that you maintain that they re-wrote the BCP and elevated it above the Bible. They did no such thing. They base their theology on the Bible Alone.

That's a curious approach. If there's a large group that disagrees on an issue and as a result it splits into two or more smaller groups, you appear to be saying that its foundation was fundamentally flawed or it wouldn't have split.

You sure that's the logic you want to go with?

Protestantism seems to be shattering into a thousand pieces before our very eyes. I'm not throwing stones at anybody. I'm just observing and commentating.

So far this LGBTQ stuff has caused splits of the following churches:

- The Episcopal Church
- The United Methodist Church
- The Presbyterian Church

Am I missing any other affected denominations?
