The DNC just virtually guaranteed Trump’s re-election in 2020

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) adopted a new rule on Friday aimed at keeping outsider candidates like Bernie Sanders from trying to clinch the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020. The new rule, adopted by the DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee, requires all Democratic presidential candidates to be a member of the Democratic Party, Yahoo News reported.

Well, it would seem to guarantee a third party challenge from the left which would likely doom the nominee.

At least they are openly screwing Bernie now. Curious how their intentional sabotage and rigging of the nomination has been swept under the rug. You’d think that would get a little more air time.

It was pretty stupid they let him in last time, then had to cheat to beat him. It should have been a no brainer. You don't let a guy that's lived his whole life in Maine, run for the governor of Louisiana. And you don't let a lifelong socialist run on the DEMOCRATIC ticket

At least he is an open socialist. Unlike HRC who thinks the government has the primary responsibility for raising kids yet pretends to be moderate

This is good politics IMO. He will join the DNC officially now.

Sanders won't run again if it's not on the Dem ticket. He's a mooch who won't be willing or able to put in the time and effort needed to finance a campaign from a nonexistent party.
I think that is what the DNC figures too.

There is zero difference between him and those other kooks anyway.

Dems are wanting more gators in the swamp instead of draining the swamp. SMH

Why not he fits their political ideology to a tee. From
What I can gather from the majority of their upper level representation socialism is their economical platform

To me the stunning part is that such a rule did not exist in the first place. Seriously, wtf were they thinking?

We need to preplan a new “operation chaos” to support a third party

This is their way of saying, "We want progressive VOTES, not progressive candidates - at least those we can't control." The Dem establishment reasserting control, at least for now. Kudos for them for being so open about it.
Contrast that with the beyond slimy RNC who stab conservative candidates (and even members of their own caucus) in the back with a smile and glib praise.

The DNC is in shambles. Wasserman-Schultz didn't consider bernie to be a challenge to clinton and allowed a so-called independent to run for the democratic nomination in 2016. No doubt sanders was little more than a field filler to the DNC. Someone for hillary to pretend joust with for media soundbites.
Now they're having to tighten up so they have full control over the process going forward. Even though I thought bernie was more than willing to play along. It was his followers more than bernie himself who wanted to upset the DNC applecart.

He will become a democrat now . No way actually let him run as a 3rd party candidate because they would have no chance to beat Trump .

This is exactly correct. Also why they had him stick up for her during the debates.

He was paid. But I do think he did get caught up in the possibility of winning.

I should have put money on MAGA after seeing this very thing. She is just that unpopular/terrible.

Exactly. The day he announced, he was one of the poorest, money wise, Senators holding a seat. That's according to Bernie himself. Now he has what, 2 beach homes?
Exactly how did that come about you reckon?

It's only fair that the "democratic nominee" actually be part of their party. I mean, Bernie has been a thorn in their side but wants to be recognized as their representative while he doesn't actually claim to be their representative? Until they can do what the R's did in the last cycle (accept TRUMP, who was their own thorn in the side) they're in trouble.
A third party run by another leftist will pull probably 20% of the vote from the DNC Nominee. That's doom for the left, considering the momentum of the economy and highly criticized TRUMP policies that are becoming effective past the point of denial (although the left and MSM denial is still strong.)
