That video of the weather man in the street during a storm pretending to barely be able to stand up while two dudes casually walk by in the background should tell you all you need to know.
Found it:

Thermometers are located near urban areas. As urban areas expand they produce heat via concrete and cars, ect. The excess heat makes it seem as if the entire globe is warming.

Ted Turner said we’d all be cannibals by now.
Remember he started cnn. Scientists don’t own the news channels, rich jerk offs do.

That’s what most of the climate nuts don’t understand or want to understand.
Climate change gives them meaning. It’s really sick.

It’s the sun. The sun’s variations are the major cause of temperature variations.
It's not the sun, it's been at the bottom of its 11 year cycle.
It's not volcanos either, human carbon production has outpaced volcanos since the 50s. Carbon ppm in the air has been tracked for decades and has an obvious upward trend. Very large volcanos can have a temporary effect, but that doesn't explain the consistent warming trendline.
Climate change isn't a 10° rise in temps overnight, it's a consistent upward creep by a few degrees here and there, decade after decade, that eventually adds up to an 8-10° increase. Average joes don't usually follow plants & weather enough to understand just how large the difference between 90F & 95F, or 90 & 100F, actually is. That's what "Durr it's sUmMeR" misses. People don't think very much of a 1° difference in temp, making it easy to minimize & dismiss.
The truth is that plants can't pump water up quickly enough at high temps, their leaves start to shrink or even burn. They simply don't function. It's why you can't grow a Norway spruce in Brownsville, TX.
And higher nighttime temps lead to increased mold & fungus growth that kill off leaves & stems, again making it harder. New species will eventually take over of course, but that doesnt happen in a human lifespan or even many many human lifespans. And you're fricked in the interim.
TBF, it's hard to feel guilty when I live in a neighborhood full of trees & hear about China building hundreds of coal power plants. I'd imagine it's the same for many posters here. But it's frustratingly how many don't garden & don't know diddly about weather while also shitting on every climate discussion.

Here is an article on urban heat. Just like everything else, the politicians and media use the fact our society is too lazy to think for itself, they manipulate it into fitting their narrative …

OK, first, I don't believe you regarding volcanos. The amount of CO2 and particulate they can spew in one eruption can match or dwarf that of man since the beginning of the industrial age.
Second, what temperature SHOULD the earth be?
And why?

According to Al Gore, the Keys were supposed to be underwater by now... and based on what I heard when I moved to New Orleans 18 years ago, it should be halfway swallowed up by the Gulf by now.

I grew up thinking the same exact thing to be honest. It's a myth. They estimate man outpaces volcanic impact by 60-90x annually. And ask yourself, if you don't believe climate data today, why believe climate data from 30-40 years ago??
LINK
quote:
Occasionally, eruptions are powerful enough to release carbon dioxide at a rate that matches or even exceeds the global rate of human emissions for a few hours. For example, Gerlach estimated that the eruptions of Mount St. Helens (1980) and Pinatubo (1991) both released carbon dioxide on a scale similar to human output for about nine hours. Human emissions of carbon dioxide continue day after day, month after month, year after year.
As far as the Earth's temp, I'd say removing as much artificially increased carbon as possible is all you can do. The climate will always change as it has for billions of years, but right now we're throwing gas on the fire.
Current policy is frustrating as it basically says neutering all our industries is the only way to stop from doing so. "Give up your good life for these douchebags that dont care - China, India, Africa" is not a strong argument.
In my opinion, the 1800s industrial revolution gets a pass, as we didn't know what we were doing, but we know now & have known for decades the impact of old-school industrialization practices. But, at the same time, try telling that to a poor nation trying to raise up their people - it's very, very difficult.

When actual scientists ran a study eliminating the data from the urban thermometers they found no rise in global temperatures.

Another, on the weather channel a few yes ago. The WC broadcaster was leaning into the wind, could barely stand,. so he appeared. when a Kid on a tricycle, came riding by behind him.

They have woke up and realized that this human caused climate change is BS. Has been debunked over and over. Go try to scare some simp minded idiots with your propaganda.

Its not just climate.
Twenty years ago I googled "Statin " drugs. A Doc? said all men should be on Statins.
Now that has been debunked.
Seventy years ago, Eggs and Cholesterol was going to kill us all. Need to eat more "Cereal". Now we know that was a lie.
Lard/Hog Fat was another killer. Suggested we eat more vegetable/corn oil.
Now that has been debunked.
And the list goes on and on.

Climate: The Movie
Here you go. This documentary should ease your worried mind. It’s ok, we all get bamboozled a few times in our lives.
Here is a lengthy convo with Dr Lindzen. chair of MITs school of climatology for 15 years. Was also a department head at Harvard for 15 years. Goes into great detail explaining why climate change is BS and why the funding model around scientific studies perpetuates the BS. Enjoy!
JP & Dr Richard Lindzen
