I tend to think COVID-19 is worse also.

Shut up, Karen. No one cares about your opinion.
That Dude called you on what was wrong in your OP, and you didn't even try to defend it which makes me think you knew all along you were posting bad info in hopes that no one would notice.

So up to a bad seasonal flu year that no one would even notice, let alone shut the world down over??
Why is that??
Completely irrelevant to my point. Which is the OP posted misleading data to make his factually incorrect argument.

I just read on a solid WaPo site that the number is actually double or triple the 60k reported.
So
Which is it?
So
Which is it?

How many people would it be if we just continued as normal? Better or worse than the flu?

Make up whatever number you want. That is what everyone else will do

This shite has been here since Dec.
EXACTLY! I can vouch for that in my hospitals Nationwide...
What we have here are a bunch of minimum wage sky screamers who don't want to go back to making 400.00 a week when they can make 900.00 a week staying home sitting on their asses.
Time to quit sleeping late and waking up to terror post about how super scary this fricking seasonal flu like virus is.

Are you talking about the "flu shot"? You realize you have to get the shot for it to have a chance to work and a large majority of Americans do not get the Flu Shot.

less than a month with literally no kids in school

So, essentially, Covid-19 increased "EXPECTED" deaths by 3.1%.
Statistically, a 0.011% chance of dying from it in the U.S.

Not only do kids NOT DIE...but the experts are starting to wonder if they even spread it.

Can you lay out the algebra on either of these? Not necessarily saying you're wrong, just curious how you arrived there?

quote:Where are you getting this number? On a weekly basis, the US as a whole has been experiencing about 20% more deaths than expected for the past month. Some areas, like NYC, have experienced about 120% more deaths than expected. In other words, more than twice as many people died in April in NYC than would have been expected without covid.
So, essentially, Covid-19 increased "EXPECTED" deaths by 3.1%.
quote:The number you are looking for is closer to 0.02%, but you have misinterpreted the meaning of it. That is the percent chance that a random person has already died of covid. Your chance of dying from it in the future would be roughly equal to the real IFR if we assume we will all contract it eventually. That number is likely to be around 0.5%.
Statistically, a 0.011% chance of dying from it in the U.S.
