Short answer: Yes—sort of.
• In an interview published Oct 8, 2025, the Vatican Apostolic Library’s vice-prefect said that some Muslim scholars asked for “a room with a carpet for praying,” and the library provided a small space for that purpose. It’s an accommodation for visiting researchers, not a general, public “Muslim chapel.” ?
• Viral photos/signage claiming there’s a formally branded “Muslim prayer room” have been flagged as fake/edited by Catholic commentators; there’s no official Vatican announcement or dedicated public facility beyond the private space for scholars. ?
So the reality is: the Library is hosting a private prayer area for Muslim researchers, not creating a public worship venue or changing doctrine.

This is like creating a women's bathroom at NASA so the black ladies that got us to the moon didn't have to leave the building to relieve themselves.
As admitted below average Catholic, this doesn't move my needle. Nobody seemed to mind that there were Muslim scholars who used the library for probably centuries.

I posted a link from Zenit saying these clarifications.
Muslims aren't tolerant of Christianity. Accommodating their "scholars" will only embolden them to push and push and push until the pope has on his head a diaper held in place by a fan belt.

Study the early church fathers then come talk to the adults in the room. Christ started a church… not Martin Luther.

And for centuries haven't had to have a safe space, complete with the little prayer rug thingy, in which to pray. I assume that, until now, they left the Vatican in order to pray. Seems like since they are the outsiders, they should be the ones inconvenienced, not the ones catered to.

There should not be vatican-permitted prayer spaces for their scholars anywhere in vatican city. JMO
