It's a waste of Monico's time and Jussie's resources to hire a white collar lawyer for a relatively petty state crime where he's likely to never spend a day in jail. The powder letter issue is a complex fed crime that opens him up to decades in prison.

If it was those two in the video and the staged “attack” was with Jussie’s consent, they committed no crime and should have been released. They didn’t falsely report it, he did, and thus committed a crime. If they were all in a conspiracy, they all three should be charged and go to prison.

It was reported that Fox received a powder letter that resulted in Hazmat being called to the scene. This was done a few days before the alleged attack. My guess is that the police either suspect or have proof that the letter was also a hoax intended to create the narrative that a white terrorist was attacking a black actor and his show.

I think it’s a class 4 felony in Illinois which would carry a minimum of 1 year. But point taken, I’m sure they would plead down the charge. It’s ridiculous that it’s, as you said, relatively petty considering it could’ve ruined someone’s life. Everyone will focus on misspent LE resources but it’s the risk that someone could falsely be charged and maybe even convicted of a hate crime that’s truly awful. And as we’ve already seen with the Covington Catholic students, just being accused can be devestating.
